In progress Wald AltezzaAndy Jones 08-14-2003, 02:35 PM Just arrived from HLJ - must admit when I opened the box I was a little dissapointed with some of the resin parts but after tapeing things together its begining to grow on me. Really could do with 19's but as FOTW said they all seemed to have disappeared from HLJ. Don't ask the colour - after the b***s up on the Blitz MRS paint job it may stay in primer:lol: Midnight Racer 08-14-2003, 02:36 PM Can't wait to see more progress. joecwlaw 08-14-2003, 02:41 PM cant see the picture dude Andy Jones 08-14-2003, 03:12 PM Originally posted by joecwlaw cant see the picture dude it's there honest:eek7: pettercardoso 08-14-2003, 03:18 PM Originally posted by Midnight Racer Can't wait to see more progress. :iagree: keep us posted! The kit includes white metal wheel arch extensions but personally I'm going to leave them off. Everything is box stock except the wheels and the rear wing which is from the recently completed RX7. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/525760a012.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/943675a013.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/117423a014.jpg flyonthewall 08-15-2003, 02:45 PM This is going to look great Andy! Hiroboy 08-15-2003, 04:29 PM I'm really looking foward to seeing this progress as it looks like a good kit and a nice bodykit. What 19" rims would you put on if you had the chance. 1000th Post from me :smokin: Andy Jones 08-15-2003, 05:23 PM I'm really looking foward to seeing this progress as it looks like a good kit and a nice bodykit. What 19" rims would you put on if you had the chance. 1000th Post from me :smokin: Steve well done on 1000 posts As regards rims dunno - posssibly Amistads but they're opp - previously I've just used the 19 inch sleeves to upsize smaller rims. How about dub style 20 inchers - I think I'm joking but looking at them perhaps not :naughty: hondaaccordboy21 08-15-2003, 10:57 PM So, does the kit come with a gt type wing. And what is the make of the kit? Honoturtle 08-15-2003, 11:03 PM Wasen't really expecting the body-kit to look that good! Good luck with it! :D Andy Jones 08-16-2003, 03:21 AM So, does the kit come with a gt type wing. And what is the make of the kit? its a fujimi kit (fuj186610) - GT wing not included max_speed 08-16-2003, 10:14 AM IMO the dub style 20 inchers doesn't look good on the altezza. Btw how is the quality of the kit?? Does it have fitment problem??? How good is the kit?? Thanks Dave Andy Jones 08-16-2003, 12:15 PM IMO the dub style 20 inchers doesn't look good on the altezza. Btw how is the quality of the kit?? Does it have fitment problem??? How good is the kit?? Thanks Dave I agree re the 20inchers Dave - I wasn't being entirely serious -will go with 18's or 19's.The quality of the kit looks ok - only drawbacks I can see at the moment are that the interior doesn't have seperate panels and is done tub style and the resin parts may need a little bit of tweaking - nothing too serious. I think it should build up ok rmg313 08-16-2003, 07:07 PM looks great SonyMobile 08-16-2003, 07:17 PM are those the OZ rims off of a tamiya peugeot rally car? if not, they look quite similar..to me anyways, looks like it will be a great build up. hope to see some more pics. bimbachetuning 08-16-2003, 07:18 PM Great kit!!! I really like how it sits low but its kinda low. Andy Jones 08-17-2003, 03:49 AM are those the OZ rims off of a tamiya peugeot rally car? if not, they look quite similar..to me anyways, looks like it will be a great build up. hope to see some more pics. Spot on - they are the Peugeot rims from the WRC kit - I was just using them as they were the biggest rims I could find. I was just trying to get an idea how it would look with 19(ish) rims. Andy Jones 08-17-2003, 03:55 AM can you take a picture with the stock rims ? I'm really looking for this kit.. it's very expensive, but does look great Vric - picture with stock rims attached- sorry its a bit blurred Andy Jones 08-17-2003, 03:57 AM Man i knew i should have ordered it. Your altezza is lookin good. I really like how it sits low but its kinda low. It's just resting on the rims at the moment - it'll sit a bit higher when the suspensions done - but not too much higher I hope Vric 08-17-2003, 09:24 AM Vric - picture with stock rims attached- sorry its a bit blurred thanks for the pic.. they really look horible... damn this kit is expensive and need extra rims now  Andy Jones 08-17-2003, 02:21 PM Just a quick post as I've now attached the resin parts and given it a quick coat of primer. The front and rear bumpers fit ok- the main problem I found was with the side skirts which are too short but nothing too major just have to build them up with plastic card. Not sure on the colour at the moment-currently have 3 in mind - candy blue, purple/green flip or metallic gold. sti wrx 08-17-2003, 03:06 PM The color I choose is candy blue Tommy Gunner 08-17-2003, 03:13 PM does it have a good amount of detail? Like detail on the door panels because my Fujimi Initial D Civic Kit has no detail at all on the door panels. Vric 08-17-2003, 03:14 PM Last request, could you post picture of the seat ? are they normal a racing style ? for the color, I like sunset Leman color like mine: http://www.magietec.com/~models/kit/images/lexus_1.jpg Andy Jones 08-17-2003, 04:11 PM I think it must be the interior from the standard kit - anyway heres the pics - hope they help 454SS 08-17-2003, 06:48 PM Can I make a susggestion/ask a question? Paint, i'd go with pearl white, and are you gona be using the puegot rims? i think if you did the car and the rims in pearl white it'd be  Vric 08-17-2003, 10:37 PM I think it must be the interior from the standard kit - anyway heres the pics - hope they help same interior as every Altezza.. :banghead: RyanGiorgio 08-17-2003, 11:24 PM Looks like one sick 'tezza. Keep it up. chaos 08-18-2003, 03:20 AM Hey Andy - what primer do you use? Looks a lot darker than tamiya's grey primer. tazdev 08-18-2003, 03:42 AM candy blue would look good Andy Jones 08-19-2003, 02:42 PM Hey Andy - what primer do you use? Looks a lot darker than tamiya's grey primer. Its Halfords automotive acrylic primer - I use it as it's easier to get hold of than Tamiya - theres a store very close to where I live Vric 08-19-2003, 02:49 PM looking foward more progress.. I just ordered this kit Andy Jones 09-06-2003, 05:46 PM A little bit of progress - all the bodywork sorted and sprayed with a Tamiya blue (originally for polycarbonate bodies but seems to work ok)I'm going to use it as a base coat and put some candy blue on top to deepen the colour. bah humbug 09-06-2003, 05:56 PM Mother of PEARL! That looks great! Man, I sound like a geek. :grinyes: EMAXX 09-07-2003, 09:19 AM I really like the blue. Looks good. That Altezza looks the bomb! Just a quick question...does that wing come with the kit too? If not, where is it from? The kit doesn't come with a gt type wing - the one I'm using came from an Aoshima FDS3 RX7 Andy Jones 09-08-2003, 02:16 PM my altezza was nearly finished, interior all done, chasis all done, paint nearly done then the halfords laquer reacted with the black paint i was using, made a weird diamond pattern in the paint???????? oh well, gonna rub it all back down again. then i can re primer and re spray. it was a rs200 by the way, its got 19" chrome rims and black paint That sucks Chris - I've been having a few reaction problems with some of the candy paint from halfords - I think the thinner must be fairly hot as its eating through the base coat and etching into the plastic -nothing for it but brake fluid. It seems to be happening with Fujimi kits - perhaps their plastic is a bit softer than Tamiya/Aoshima. Anyway best of luck with the respay. Andy Jones 09-14-2003, 12:55 PM Just a couple of outside pics after clear coating - will have to leave it for a week before polishing out Andy Jones 09-21-2003, 04:02 PM A bit more progess:- Clearcoat polished out, window trim painted and lights installed - getting there slowly. fujimituner235 09-21-2003, 04:27 PM Need new wheels SonyMobile 09-21-2003, 08:30 PM looks amazing, cant wait to see more progress, flawless paint job, great work, chaos 09-22-2003, 12:27 AM Need new wheels Why?
