In progress: NSX, lots of pics.willimo 08-13-2003, 02:19 AM This is my NSX. It's bein' worked on, and I'm hoping to have it done by Saturday but that may not be the case, depending on the work I have, and since I have an autocross to prepare for on Sunday. Here's it is, and you can see the hood that I stole from a Castrol Mugen NSX. I originally included the little diffusers but they looked bad to me, so I took them off. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/307526NSX06.jpg Here's the rear. That's an SAS spoiler, and you can see the metal transfer emblem stolen from an S2000. Otherwise, nothing special. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/342928NSX08.jpg Here's my engine. Unfortunately, most of it is obscured by body. Stupid midship. Anyway, here you can see the supercharger I added, as well as the intake that will eventually terminate with the Mugen NSX roof scoop. Oh yeah, and the cool heat shielding I made but putting metal foil on toilet paper and hitting it on my mousepad to make it crinkly.... I'm so proud of that stuff! Me = nerd. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/605536NSX07.jpg Here it is with rims on, two pics because I think it looks hard core. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/143625NSX03.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/936615NSX04.jpg So what ya'll think? I honestly think this is my best car to date, and If you check my other posts, I'm sure you'll agree. Asmenoth 08-13-2003, 05:25 AM Looks awsome. What color is that? njh 08-13-2003, 08:02 AM Very nice :bigthumb: bigfrit 08-13-2003, 10:43 AM It looks bloody gorgeous, but I have to agree with FOTW, maybe panel lining, and some polishing would have made it even more WOW ! Olivier:bigthumb: malsheem 08-13-2003, 11:51 AM Very nice color. Is it that Orange Metallic Pearl (or something like that) from Tamiya? And those Blitz BRW are the best. I buy those up whenever I see them (which unfortunately isn't that often). I love those wheels. Nice touch with the supercharger and hood. Tommy Gunner 08-13-2003, 11:56 AM I think it looks great. Love the supercharger and the heat shield. Nice work man. Jay! 08-13-2003, 06:06 PM Was this the NSX-R kit, or did you remove the foglights yourself? willimo 08-13-2003, 07:10 PM The rims are the Blitz BRW's, I think, I've thrown ot the box to make room for more kits. The color is Acura Imola Orange Pearl basecoat over gray primer and with Testors pearl and gloss on top. I'm actually really dissappointed in the paint. It should be redder, but the gray primer sucked out all the color, so it looks almost gold. Made me really mad. I should have used white primer. Later, after the point of no return, I experimented on a scrap body that was half white and half gray primed... the difference was enormous. I think I'll prime white and paint my 350Z with the same paint-- no one will know. It's the Tamiya NSX, the one with the red car on the box art, 2400. So no, it's not the NSX-R, neither the Tamiya version nor the Fujimi. I don't really agree with panel lines, I don't like them. But that said, I do admit I didn't score around the hood enough before painting, and the line is too shallow. I'm always afraid to polish, too, Since my RX-7 which I polished like crazy and it looks far worse than this. Call me chicken, but that's it. Anyway-- ya'll said the paint needs work-- what kind of work? Seriously curious, I've put a bit of work into this car and I want it as well as I can get it. Tips and criticisim are well received. SuperStreet reader 08-13-2003, 07:45 PM nice car:bigthumb: pettercardoso 08-13-2003, 09:03 PM I love that colour! And the wheels....OH the wheels..are awsome. Great job, man!
