Last year for the Imprezas???ScoobySnacks 08-12-2003, 09:47 AM Hi Everyone, I'm not too sure if what im about to ask is true or not, but the rumor mill has it that the Impreza name has been sold and Subaru is working on a different line of car to replace the almight WRX. Is this true?? Scooby Dooo:sunglasse freakray 08-12-2003, 10:05 AM There is a concept in circulation of what a future replacement for the Impreza may look like, but that's not for a couple of years yet. I haven't heard anything to the effect of Subaru dropping the Impreza or for that matter selling the name rights off and I very much doubt they would right now. Where was your rumour mill? ScoobySnacks 08-12-2003, 02:31 PM The Rumor mill was from a few local Subaru gearheads here in Toronto. they say they heard it from a few people that work at Subaru Canada, but I dont know how much credit ill give to thier claim. I guess we'll have to see what happens! Scooby Doo freakray 08-12-2003, 02:53 PM Do you think Subaru would have spent all that money tooling out a new body for 2003/2004 to completely drop the car in 2005? It takes 2 or 3 years minimum for automotive tooling to pay for itself depending on the market, there is no way Subaru would spend that sort of money to scrap it. dayna240sx 08-13-2003, 01:31 AM Originally posted by ScoobySnacks The Rumor mill was from a few local Subaru gearheads here in Toronto. they say they heard it from a few people that work at Subaru Canada, but I dont know how much credit ill give to thier claim. I wouldn't see it happening in the states, after 10 years of name/brand recognition it woul dbe retarded for a reletively small company like Subaru to do this. The WRX is as you may know, just a version of the Impreza. So if there is a replacement down the road it will still likely have the "World Rally Experimental" trim level. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
