XOTech 01-06-2002, 12:10 AM Marita, I pass through Huntington Beach quite often. In fact, one of the McLaren clients that I work with just had his car there. I was not able to see it on that day, but he also makes trips up to Willow Springs now and then as well. He gets it out quite a bit. Snowboarder, McLaren hp is rated at 627hp for a stock F1, the LM was the highest stock trim horsepower rating at 668. However, as one would expect, there is always somebody that HAS to have more. I have heard of, but have not seen, a car with over 800hp naturally aspirated (ie: no turbos). From what I know of the car and the engine, the 800hp is not that unreasonable and isn't too expensive to achieve. Personally, I would be inclined to keep the car as it was, unless I was able to acquire a GTR. Then I would not feel as bad about modifying the car. It is currently quite difficult to get a GTR in the country. They can only be brought in under a temporary 1-year racing Visa, then the car must be deported. Without saying as much, there are ways to get what you want though. :) I know the guys at Symbolic as well. I only deal with two of the salesmen there. The rest I don't care for much. They have never had a McLaren at their facility. They do still usually have some nice stuff though. XOTech 01-25-2002, 12:41 AM Snowboarder... as you have no doubt been able to follow that I have been quite heavy into the exotics for quite some time. Through the years, I have bought and sold quite a few cars. The Lamborghinis and Ferraris are at the top of my list for cars sold. I do not personally buy every car I sell. Far from it in fact. Most of the cars I sell, I never see. They are inspected at the location of the car and the condition of the car is certified and the contract is based on that inspection. If the car doesn't add up, the deal will not go through. For brief periods of time, I have owned Lamborghinis and various Ferraris. I do not currently own a Lamborghini or a Ferrari. They have been sold for a return on my investment. I am always looking for additional cars at the right money. But I usually don't buy a car just to have. If I can't buy the car to make at least some money, it isn't worth it, not that I must always think about money, but simply making good business decisions. At every effort possible, I try to always make good investments. Cars are my form of investment. It is a "stock market" so to speak. I am currently looking for a 1994 Lamborghini Diablo 30th Anniversary Special Edition in Anniversary Purple. I have been offered several cars, but didn't feel that the money on the car was right. When I find one at the right money, I would like to keep that car. I have driven so many different cars, that I find it very enjoyable to experience them all. I have also learned to not grow too attached to any car. Enjoy them while you have them, sell it for something new and enjoy it. By no means am I infinitely wealthy. I am only stepping up to bigger things. BuyALambo 01-25-2002, 03:52 PM KBSLACKER: I appreciate you taking the time to research and expose the imposter. I am affiliated with Fox Valley Motorcars, but I won't say how. This is my first time here, and i'm sure it won't be my last. I like being places where there are other auto enthusiasts like myself. If you should need further proof, here is a shot I took of the brake and clutch pedal in that very car (we weren't driving at the time, duh). shot is here: http://www.foxvalleymotorcars.com/proof.jpg S Brake 01-25-2002, 05:27 PM  nice clutch and brake pedal! Welcome to AF, hope you enjoy a lengthy stay here. feel free to post more awesome pics! XOTech, you're probably sick of me asking, but would you mind telling us what kind of Ferrari's you've owned, and maybe your Lambos for the other kids. JE123 01-25-2002, 11:57 PM Welcome to AF BuyALambo. This is a great place for people like me to ask questions and get educated answers. The forums are quite addicting. Thanks for the pic. It will go into my collection of McLaren pics.:) XOTech 02-05-2002, 01:01 AM snowboarder - Seems like I posted this somewhere on another thread, but I don't remember where. Nevertheless. My exotic ownership has thus been limited to a Lamborghini Diablo (an early car), a Lamborghini Diablo Roadster, a Ferrari 308 GTB, and a Ferrari 355 Spider. Most of those cars were owned strictly for a brief moment and were resold. Currently, as I have mentioned elsewhere, I do not own any Ferraris or Lamborghinis. I am currently reviewing for purchase a '91 Diablo and an '89 Countach Anniversary. We will see how things go. Sometime in this year, I would like to buy a 1993 Diablo 30th Anniversary Special Edition. It has always been one of my all time favorites. It will be the anniversary purple as well. 2cooljay 03-21-2002, 02:05 PM I guess this thread is finally dead. Hey that rhymes. It was an awesome thread. Lots of insight and humor. A lot of thanks to XOTech, you are the man when it comes to exotics. You give real answers to our questions and I think we all appreciate it. XOTech 03-27-2002, 11:21 PM 2cooljay, I must admit this has been quite an interesting thread. It was this thread that initially interested me in this forum. I am glad that you have not disappeared as a result of all the recoil from your initial claims. At a minimum, you provided pictures of a car few would have seen otherwise. As a side note, the car that you pictured that was originally at Fox Valley is still in customs seizure. Thank you for the comment as to my posts. I try not to be too stuffy with responses, but what I know, I am happy to share. If I don't know the answer to something, I usually know the people that can tell me. If nothing else, I can ask of my friends at the McLaren factory. sizzilinS7 12-18-2002, 03:54 PM 2cooljay, I will SERIOUSLY race you for pink slips. I-Tech 02-20-2003, 11:44 AM Reading this thread makes me ask myself: Is there really 4 real life owners of Lamborghini Diablos in the Lambo forums? lambo_VT 02-21-2003, 11:28 PM Yeah... there are a few of us floating around here and there, its just that its pretty easy to fake....
