Nookie_Monster 04-15-2003, 11:09 PM you rarely see 69's with the side pipes. i was smart enough to get some for mine:) DeViL 04-15-2003, 11:15 PM Was talking to Pick he didn't know. Murco 04-21-2003, 12:15 AM My favorite is the 1969 Sting Ray. I was fortunate enough to be around the ZL1 while Wayne Walker was restoring it in 1980, what an impact that made on my 15 year-old mind!! My other favorite is the 1967 Sting Ray convertible. Wayne had a number of those over the years and my dad had one too, a 427/435 red roadster. Coolest part? This was long before they became too valuable to rip-loose on the street!! I guess I grew-up in a pretty cool neighborhood!! http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/826084sidezl1.jpg debbie1 04-30-2003, 10:13 AM  my favorite is the "73" hands down. mine was white with a black vinyl t-top that was original to the car with a 350/4speed. the car had the new front end that started in 74 I believe, and the old back end with the chrome bumbers. sadly the car seemed to be jinxed and had been put back together to it's original state twice after two accidents. this is pretty bad considering in the 10 years i had the car i only put 12k miles on it. go figure. Know where i can find another????? would have loved to have had the car back again, but the guy who bought it also wrecked it and sadly didn't put it back to original state. when the car came up for sale it was such a mess i decided not to buy back the car. Stefanel1 05-01-2003, 01:13 PM I prefer the C5 .... sorry :D Jimster 05-04-2003, 03:32 AM hhhmmm..........I have to say that I like the 1963 model- in red with plenty of white highlights J_Spec_NiTeMaRe 05-15-2003, 07:50 PM Originally posted by Misundaztood Any C4. ZR1, Grand-Sport, whatever. Those were the true raw Vette's during the 90's. I guess I am biased too:D but I totally agree with you. The true enthusiast will own either a stingray or a C4. hiphophomer 05-15-2003, 09:41 PM c4s kind of look bad(no offense) but i know there the building blocks for the c5...:bloated: Venger10 05-15-2003, 09:53 PM Final year ZR1....'95 , wasn't it?? I'll take that over an ugly C-5 any day....:argue: :biggrin2: Nookie_Monster 05-15-2003, 10:01 PM '69 stingray. has always been my favorite car and now i own one and my respect for the car has never been stronger. griff2130 08-02-2003, 04:35 PM If i was to pick any corvette, i would havt to pick, the 1967 L88. With around 600 HP straight off the assembly line, and being worth around $700,000 today, that would be my hands down choice for any corvette themodelkid 08-05-2003, 09:03 PM 1967, I love the styling just for 67, all the HUGE ASS engine options!! EZ Money 12-23-2003, 03:23 PM The 63 Split Window is by far the nicest of all Corvettes, especially if equipped with a 327, 350 HP mouse. Second has to be the 62, again with the 350 HP and a lift off top and Wonderbar radio. I own an 84 that looks and runs like new and although not in the same class with the above, I like it. :) Verns Z06 01-12-2004, 07:03 AM I have owned a 77 L-82 vette for 19 years and sold it for a 2002 Z06. The Z06 is the best Corvette ever put into production. Anyone that has drove one will agree with me. Not to get all you other Corvette owners mad, I have to say I rather be driving any year and/or model Vette than any other American built car. ntnsec5 01-18-2004, 11:20 PM Had a C4...lots of power, not great performance or handling. Got a C5...lots of power, great performance and handling. Want a C6...lots of power and good looks, great performance and handling. donatelo22 02-06-2004, 07:35 PM I'm thinking most of the people voting must be young....(ie to them newer is better). The most notable Corvette is simple. 1967 L-88. Almost 600 HP from the factory. No comparison. Why else would it be THE most expensive vette around today? Costs as much as an original Cobra. Not to mention most true 'vette enthusiasts would have to go for any '67. But then again....I'm biased! Isn't the ZR2 the most expensive around?there was one for sale about two weeks ago for 375,000.00 USD.1972,and was bright blue. There was only 13 ZR2's ever made,of which only three exist today(i heard this from a former owner who was selling odds and ends left over after rebuilding a total loss ZR2.He had mentionned that his was resold for 425,000.00. FortechMini11 02-07-2004, 01:29 AM 1963 Split-Window with the original Z06 racing trim. magicweed 02-08-2004, 09:07 PM i drive my dads 72 coupe all summer, love that car, and drive the torch red 99 coupe on ocassion, really love that car, but id have to say my favorite would be a fuel injected 327 powered 63 split window. gorgeous. and to those of you who mentioned that there was nothing changed from the c4 to the c5 and that the styling is unoriginal, i say to you....HAHAHAHA! the c5 is ten times the machine the c4 was. the construction process, from the hydroformed frame to the light weight composite bodypanels was redone and made better. a lot better. everyone i know doesnt really like the looks of the c4, feeling that it looks far too much like the camaros and firebirds of the 80's an i cant say i dont agree. plus women deffinately prefer the curves, of which the c4 has none. when i ride in my friends 88, no one looks at us twice, unless they know its a vette. in the 72 or the 99, everyone looks and comes up askin bout everything. papasmith 09-10-2004, 08:28 PM Actually, the first three generations of Vettes look better to me. The C4, well lets just say that was a dark period in Corvette History as far as styling. The C5 has good looks but the reason why it gets my vote is becuase of its other virtues such as ride, handling, creature comforts and so on yet, still has enough of that sports car look and feel. The C6 looks to be even better in all departments. 94S10SS383 09-10-2004, 11:14 PM answer: Newest vette....2000_-present my personal fav.....Sept 2004 issue of Car and Driver the yellow vette on the cover....wow 2004 Corvette C6 ..w/ Z51 Suspension package(stiffer suspension+bigger brakes+transmission cooler).......the bad a$$ part is...hardtop or softop to convertable in just 20 seconds....sweeeet... 94S10SS383 09-10-2004, 11:16 PM see Papasmith agrees...C6 just think maybe C7 still coming soon cooltc2004 09-20-2004, 09:10 AM 1967 Corvette Stingray w/ L-88 427ci motor Justardnck 09-23-2004, 09:38 PM I have to say I am not an expert on vettes and my 1992 is the first one I have actually been able to drive normal and I love it to death. I never really liked the earlier C-4 but I have always loved what I believed to be the ZR1 style vette with the rounded rear bumper and the cockpit style dash. This is what prompted me to look for a vette between the years of 1991-1996. I have always and still hate the rear bumper and the exhaust look on the C-5. I also like the tilt nose on the C-4 cause I like the fact that you have better access to the engine without the possability of scratching the fenders. We will all have diff opinions on diff years and thats what makes this so much fun... I get to learn about other years that I don't have so I can make an educated purchase on my next vette.... I say "keep up the good work guys" Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
