Ok, initial D is a cartoon as you already know.

It has been released as an arcade game and you can get a car saved onto a card (like a memory stick). lalala, thats all that matters

o, btw, its not in english, you gotta get a version with subtitles ;)

Or just wait until September when the first two DVD's will be released by Tokyopop.

And, folks, before anyone begins talking about lame name changes, I'll say this. Do you want Shuichi Shigeno to make Fourth Stage or not?

If so, support Tokyopop and Shigeno instead of holding onto fansubs, which on September 16th will have become bootlegs.

Besides, whether they call him Itsuki, Iggy, or Iguana, he'll still be an annoying little poser. So what's the big deal? Names don't make a story.

Plus you'll be able to select the original names and the Eurobeat soundtrack in the dub as opposed to the new names and soundtrack. Or watch it in subtitles. So what, exactly, is the problem with supporting the creator and the licensor who'll be bringing over the anime, has brought over the manga, and will be bringing over the stuff while trying to get the show on television?

Region 2 DVD's would be my guess. That or Hong Kong bootlegs, which would better explain English subtitles.

R2's are most of the time okay, since they were simply DVD's released in Japan. Checking the publisher will verify their authenticity.

Otherwise, odds are you have Hong Kong bootlegs which means Shigeno got nothing. I do my damnedest to support the artists and studios that produce anime, films, and music. It's personal ethics.

Hmmm. Maybe . . . Well I see that Maxy is from Australia, wich is so much closer to Japan than us, and i understand that they have a fairly large asian population there, so from my point of view, i think it's quite possible that they aren't bootlegs. I think they may have very well shipped to Australia before the US.

wouldnt surprise me if they did come here first, in Melbourne we have a pretty high asian poulation, we get all the cool manga stuff down here. Initial D is big :D
