2001 taurusrob2421 08-08-2003, 11:14 AM I have a 2001 ford taurus and my check engine light came on today, a couple weeks ago i had the oil changed and the car went into a no start condition but after it sat awhile it started and then a couple days later the same thing happened again so we had it towed to the local ford dealer when they went to look at it it started up fine and they ran it through all the tests and could not find anything wrong with it. so now that the engine light is on could that have something to do with that problem? philterlecki 08-08-2003, 04:17 PM http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=526549 :loser: :thefinger folgers_a1 09-18-2003, 10:56 AM we have had numerous new and almost new cars over the years. at one time or another the check engine light came on and it affected the runnung of the vehicle. we always called o dearlership that handled the vehicle, and the anser was always that they needed to reset something in the vehicles comutor. everytime it worked fine then. i should add that it only happens once to each vehicle. and then they reset the computor. cheap and problem fixed. the computor is set to do that when the engine reaches so many miles. but i wouldn't let anybody do it other than a ford dearlership. it always worked for us and a cheap fix too. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
