Hi,

I was wondering if anybody new of an individual or company that can make a one off set of decals to order.

What I am after is fairly simple but is mainly white which makes DIY not an option:-

Unfortunately, as far as I can find, nobody (ST27 etc) makes these.
Any help you folks can give, links etc, would be of a great help.

Thanks

Richie

There is an ALPS printer that prints white. You may be able to find a copy or graphics store that has one. Given that, you would still have to give them a file with all the graphics in a format they could print.
I know you can get rub-on transfers made in a single color for reasonable money. I just don't have any links to the companys.

Yup, ALPS prints white, and I like it. But it's a little translucent, so the body color might be seen through on the Supra.
ALPS let you overlap images, so printing white twice might solve the problem.

Actually, any water slide decal shop can print one off decal. It's just that negative and setup fee starts from somewhere around $200 - 300. And printing one decal and 100 decals don't make much difference, that's why not many people do it. If you pay, any print shop will do it for you.

Alternative is to make the rub on decal (dry transfer), and it's cheaper than water slide decal. I made a custom rub on decal for my Jaguar XJ220 LM, and 1/2 of letter size image was 4000 yen, which includes negative and one decal sheet.

Google search by custom dry transfer or something.

How opaque are white dry-transfers compared to white water-slide?

The white ink on an alps printer turns out great if two or 3 layers of it are added, i generally do two layers of white under all my decals, even if they end up a completely different color. It helps the colors stay the right tint, and you also don't see color seperation lines on 2 tone paint jobs. You can pick up one of the printers from ebay frequently, look for a md-1300 or md-5000, they are the most popular. The only problem wih the printers now, is that Alps, has gotten out of the american market. Ink is still readily available, and they said it would continue to be. but if the printer breaks, you have to send it to japan with $300 and they will send you a unit that they have refurbished, that's the only warranty offered in the US. hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

Not as good as Caltograf silk screen printed decal, but quite decent. I made a set of two, just in case I have to apply twice. Still, dry transfer works great, since it doesn't have the clear carrier film. You can test by buying any of the cheap dry transfer numbers and letters available at well stocked office and design supply store.
