Dude, stick with 2.5 or even 2 1/4. I'm running 2 1/4 on mine. Save the 3 for forced induction.

From my local forum:

Can I make a huge suggestion? Get whatever muffler you want, the bigger the deeper. Here's where most people mess up: Get a resonator put in there. If you leave that out, it will definitely sound like a dirtbike or a chainsaw. The best resonator I've seen is a good old cherry bomb glass pack. They're cheap, they're sold everywhere, and it gives a nice deep growling sound to the exhaust system. Have it welded in about 2 feet behind the cat, and you're good to go.. Best part about it is the glass packs are free flow with no obstructions. This should give you a nice deep sound without being loud at all. Just lets people know you're there. I'm having a 36" glass pack installed on my car in the near future to quiet it down a notch or 6.

keep the 2.25 for the n/a Subaru,

Don't get a Ractive muffler
They sound like ass (imho)

Get a Magnaflow race series
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/mirrorfinish/raceseries.htm

see that 14851?

Look through the street series too for some other options...
