Place Stop on Transfer of Car TitleDrummKat54 07-30-2003, 11:10 PM I borrowed money from someone and gave them my signed pink slip as collateral ... they took my title to the DMV and put it in their name about 3 weeks ago. A lady at the DMV said I can place a stop transfer on the title. Is this true? Anybody had to do that before? I'm pissed YogsVR4 07-31-2003, 11:51 AM Can't say I've done that before. What are you pissed about. That he transfered the title? Did you pay them back the money? If not, work up a contract to have the car signed back over when you do. If you have paid them back, then you better call a lawyer ASAP and have them work out the legaleeze of the situation. CraigFL 07-31-2003, 01:13 PM When you signed it, you transferred title to them. You could have just let them put a Lien on it so the title remained in your name. Now, if you default, it is easier for them to take the car back -- because it's theirs! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
