egr valve problem, would like to know how to clean them

here is something i found about the same problem i am having with my 91 Accord, and also the honda shop told me this needed to be done for a nice price of 180$.

"Come to find out I had to drill out those brass egr port plugs and clean them.Wasn't to bad of a job either"

I tried to get this guy to let me know how he did it but there were no responses, so is there anyone who would be able to tell me how i would go about doing this. My car is jerking so much when i accelerate that you could probably mix an egg just leaving it on the dash (a little exaggerated of course). anyway any help would be very nice,

get it diagnosed or buy a OBD2 code tester.If i were you i would remove
the EGR valve (very easy to do)looking at the bottom side facing you there
is a pintal plunger looking thing, with a small screwdriver push it in, it
is spring loaded, while pushing it in put some side pressure on it, this
will break up the carbon that makes it stick, just DO NOT spin or rotate
the pintal, just push it in with side pressure many times.

I just came home from Harvey's house and he told me since your dealiship
said your problem was due to blocked EGR passages that you should buy a
bottle of GM Kleens and pull off your EGR motor off the intake. Should be
two bolts and a weatherpack connector. Start the engine and slowly pour
the KLEENS down into the hole where the EGR motor was. A turkey baster or
some other gadget will help in getting the chemical to the hole. This hole
is directly connected to your EGR passages. Also he said to squirt some
into the hole with the engine off. Let sit for a few minutes then start
the engine. Any carbon deposits should be dissolved and burned away
harmlessly. If this is your problem then this should be the fix according
to GM tech.
