i wuz wondering if its possible to transplant a 2JZ-GTE twin turbo engine from a supra into and is300. would this require tranny replacement, or anything like that?

I would not do the transplant... It requires a new tranny, new rear end, and a ton of work aside from just dropping in the engine, which in itself is no easy task.

The better option is to work with what you have, and turbo/supercharge the stock engine.

wut about a 3S-GTE from an MR-2? cuz right now, everything is so expensive for the is300 5 speed. and i thought that if you replace the engine with something similar, it would have more bang for the buck.

asumming you can haul one out of the junk yard you have the cost of the TT block, turbos, intercooler, exhaust, tranny, rear end, engine management system, then the cost of labor for the installation.
THink before you speak, it works better that way.

it would require a lot of work. new tranny, new engine mounts, everything.
it will be cheaper and lighter if you just turbocharge the current engine
