These coilovers SUCK. MAJOR lowering issues as well90gs 07-28-2003, 08:13 PM i bought some dropzone coilovers a while ago and finally got around to installing the front 2 last wednesday (and was pleased, i put it 1" down on the sleeve, turned out to be 3.5" lower in reality, i liked it though). then today i got around to installing the back 2 (i do this car stuff on days i dont work). after taking off the rear shock and taking off the spring i noticed that its hella long. the actual springs on dropzone coilovers are 6 1/4" and the stock spring (in the back anyway) is like 15". so i put on the dropzone sleeve and put the perch alllll the way at the top and did it to both sides, then took the car off the jack and the shocks got all the way compressed and there was still a 2.5" gap between the top of the dropzone spring and the car. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid71/pd29d3837d750b50acaeaf110413f1f91/fb8c3c05.jpg i had the 2 springs from the front lying around and they're like 3" shorter than the rear springs so i figure hell i just put these on till i get something better for the rear. so i undo all the shit i just did and put the front springs on the back. guess what! the front springs are wayyyy stiffer than the back and hardly compress at ALL when i put the car back down and it ends up being 1" RAISED compared to stock. so now i have a car thats lowered 3.5" up front and raised 1" in the back. i look like those faggy trucks that do that on purpose thinking it fools people into thinking they're hardcore draggers or something. BullShifter 07-28-2003, 11:30 PM Another reason not to purchase or install sleeved springs 90gs 07-29-2003, 12:38 PM they worked fine on the front, i was pleased. BARELY bouncier than stock (with KYB GR-2s) on a 3.5" drop. if they are marketed for integras shouldnt they at least fit? SilverY2KCivic 07-29-2003, 02:29 PM That's why I'd never recommend sleeve type coilovers, and especially not drop zones. :shakehead As for what you noticed with the front springs, of course they are stiffer, they are made to support the front of the car since the engine is up there. And if I remember correctly, they are shorter than the rear springs. What I'd do is contact Dropzone and ask them about this. I'm thinking maybe by mistake you put the rear springs up front, and got them mixed up. But then again, aren't they all the same size? :bloated: 90gs 07-29-2003, 07:09 PM all the springs are 6 1/4" long exactly. i put the ones out of the boxes that say FRONT on the front. the springs that i put up front said 450FR on it and the ones i was trying to put on the back say 450RR SilverY2KCivic 07-29-2003, 08:33 PM Definitely contact Dropzone then, or at least where ever you bought them from... You might want to upgrade your shocks if you plan on running it @ 3.5" drop, or just wait a month til your shocks blow out!!!!! I AGREE 420%:bigthumb: vtec28412 07-30-2003, 01:55 PM I don`t think dropzone really has a good reputation, so i wouldn`t be that suprised they suck. csaddict 07-30-2003, 08:35 PM My coilover sleeves were nothing but a headache. They were sent back and I got a nice set of H&R stage II springs. They dont slam the car, but I dont like that look anyway, plus the fact I like my suspension to actually work! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
