i have a 97 dx civic hb and need some more power. My friend is selling a d16z6 head and intake manifold along with everything i need for the swap short of the vtec switch for 75$. I was just wondering if this swap will work for sure. Also would some milling and porting on the head and intake manifold be a good choice? I appreciate any answers thanks in advance

Yes, mini me swaps work. As far as the VTEC wiring, I've heard people using VAFC's w/ stock non-VTEC ecu's and I don't suggest it. I'd covert to OBDI and just get a p28 ECU. They are fairly cheap and I guarantee that you'll like OBDI much better. Porting and polishing the head would be a good move while it's out. :bigthumb:

The only problem is i live in Tarrant county so i have emissions testing. I will fail the test with a obd1 system since my car is a 97 correct me if im wrong

true, why dont you look for a y8 head/IM and ecu so you can stay OBDII
