Springs better the Sawybars?

I talk to this guys who has a lot of experince in race(really). He told me that the springs are best way to go than swaybars. Is by stiffing the springs in the front and back mostly int he back, like to about 480lb in the back and 400Ib in the front. Anything higher would make it way to stiff and that it woul an easy setup since I have GC. Do you agree??

Springs & sway bars are 2 completely different things.

Spring rates will depending on the driving/racing
Generally you will want stiffer springs in the front then rear

Well the guy that told about the springs says that I would need about 480Ib in the rear and 420 in the front, more in the rear(oversteer)???
But the question is...is getting stiffer springs better then getting a swaybars.

for what purpose?

sway bars need to be used with "stiffer springs" to perform correctly. you cant modify just one part and expect full results.

Just some FYI, my Tein coilovers came 448 front, and 224 rear, so stiffer at the rear I wouldn't recommend as it'll make your car handle COMPLETELY different than you think it might, and you'll end up wrecking your car unless you know how to control it correctly. That setup is the perfect recipe for snap oversteer, and that's something even the more experienced of drivers usually can't even control, you're basically along for the ride once that happens, and I've had it happen to me on 4 occasions that I can recall, all ended up with no damage to my car, but a couple we VERY close calls.

I'd have to say swaybars would be more benificial than springs, but like JackassSi stated, you need EVERYTHING to make it all work correctly and to it's fullest potential. It's like and exhaust system. It's not going to give what you expect or what the company claims it will unless you have a header to go along with it, a high flow cat or no cat at all, and a port matched head to give a flawless flow to the header.

snap steer is very hard to control, since its so sudden. almost like cuting a right front tire down in a left hand corner. Its going where momentum takes you.

snap steer is fun out on the track, watch out you dont get run over on the street.

Right now I have ground control's. Do you know what the spring rates are? Could I get front 450lb and 250lb rear? Would that cause snap-oversteer?Thks for the book jackassi
