my friend has a 95 accord ex v6, i think its got 170 horse power, which is the same as my 96 integra gsr. mines manual, his is stick. how much should i expect to beat him by. he wants to drag and race me on this windy ass road. kinda funny isn't it.

Since he has a GS-R, he must have a stick [manual]. Im guessing he meant his friends accord is an automatic.. ?

Yeah well u'll definitely beat him....not sure by how much...but the power to weight ratio plus the auto. vs stick both of these factors are in ur favor.

unless of course u don't know how to drive a stick very well. then the favors toward the accord

the accord-V6 will beat the gsr of course...just because you have the manual doesn't always mean your more likely to win...your only advantage is faster shifting... he just sits back and relax while gasing it.. and you said you guys have around the same amount of power... one thing you don't know is your integra is lower on torque than the accord... he's pushing iono 143lbs/ft of torque... just out of my head.. while your teggy just pushing 128..you'll reach a certain amount where you'll have hard time picking up speed and he's still pushin more power than you..trust me i've been there

...no the accord has about 200HP or somewhere around there..with like 150 Torque (probally higher)....but u a "sporter VTEC Motor" stick, and weight...I say "GSR Long and short run's"

the 96 accords are hella weak unless they ueses nitrous..i go for you gsr..the only accords you don't really want to mess with are the 98 accord v6 throught the brand new ones that are v6..otherwise all the other accords are weak...the 95 doesn't have 200 they got like 170 and the 98 accord v6 has 200 and the 2004 accord v6 has 220...

yeah u guys R right...94-97 V6 accord 170HP 165 Torque

98-02 V6 accord 200HP 195 Torque

03-up v6 accord 240HP 212 Torque

while your teggy just pushing 128..

GSR's have 140 ftlb

GSR's have 140 ftlb

no they don't...you can ask anyone i mean anyone here...they don't have 140 ftlb torque...they have around 128 only..gsr's are low on torque...just like the civic si..they ahve the horsepower but not enough torque...you must have mistaken it for the rsx where they have 140 something ftlbs of torque

Your car should handle better on a windy road assuming you both are stock.

People here seem to do more hypothetical races than actually racing on the road. Race and then tell us who is faster

yea sorry GSR's have always been faster than accords. Accords are too heavy. thats why honda gave them a v6, because a 4 banger wouldnt even hang with a neon.

i check some 1/4 miles times between these two and the gsr should beat the accord by about half a sec or so.

yes he is right
the ITR has around 130 ft so i doubt the GS-R has anywhere near 140

heres the true specs right off of edmunds.com...the integra has 170hp and 128 ft-lbs of torque...the accord has 170hp and 165 ft-lbs of torque...keep in mind the weights too...the accord weighs 3285 lbs and the integra weighs 2667 lbs if its the 2dr and only 2765 lbs if its the 4dr...so do with that info what you like...but no more argument about the facts...these are as straight as they come

First of all this thread is a year old. check the dates before replying, I realize that alot of you just saw it at the top of the page and replyed but at least one of you (99teggygsr) went digging and brought it out. DON"T DO THAT.

Anyway a gs-r with 170 hp and 128 ft/lbs will beat an automatic 1995 accord just about anyway you slice it. I don't care if it has 200hp and 140 something torque. it weighs alot more than an integra and it has a crappy automatic geared to haul the family around, while the gs-r has a manual geared for acceleration. a 1995 accord is not a sporty or fast car sorry.

the accord is automatic and has a heavy body compared to the integra, do do the weight by power ratio, the integra can definatlly take the accord.

Not sure how a GSR vs. a V6 accord goes, but to tell it straight, my friend has a 94 Teg LS (the 140hp, 126 torque manual) and I always beat him in my 96' Accord I4 (vtec version). He has a quicker start because of the weight, but as soon as the VTEC kicks in on the accord I start putting about 1-2 car lengths between him.

And as far as highway racing goes, he tops out sooner than the Accord. The LS Teg in 5th gear is already at 5k RPMS at 95 mph, where as the Accord is still at 3500 rpms in its 4th gear automatic. My Accord does not go into 4th gear until after 90 mph.

Screw 1/4 mile times...... Screw the HP...... Screw the torque..... Go BALLS to the wall, and just race him. Depending on the driver, a slower car can win. With that in mind, I wont say the GS-R will win, but if I were driving it, it would be no contest.

FYI, if you start to fall back, push harder in the curves.............fISH
