BMW cracked head legal adviceDaveW320ci 07-22-2003, 07:01 AM If an expensive car has had a new convertible roof, new wheels, new carpets, new suspension and now a cracked head at 40k miles just 2 months out of warranty,is there any legal terms e.g fit for purpose that we can go back to BMW and fight out corner with. It's the usual small guy against the big corporate boys and the small guy not knowing the law ! After 3 years and 2 months it seems alot ! Any help very much appreciated ....... Dave.... TEXAS-HOTROD 07-26-2003, 10:06 AM My wife bought a Z-28 when the new body style came out (1994). The car was in the shop for several different problems. But when they couldn't fix the noisy rear gears we threatened to file a"lemon law". Since the car was clean and low mileage they gave us a great trade-in deal for a 95 Z. Since it was a sweet deal my wife ordered one w/T-tops and leather interrior. They put the lemon on the lot and sold it in no time. As for the 95 Z, we didn't have any complaints. What's the story on the new roof, and wheels. How can a carpet go bad? New suspension at 40Ks? Is it use, or abuse? I have 130Ks on my Vette and haven't replaced anything. A cracked head too? Are you sure, or just assuming? It takes a lot to crack an aluminum head. Cast iron heads will crack when overheated but I've seen aluminum engines melt radiators and hoses (and pistons) with no damage to the head. Need more info on the story. ---TEX--- KC Ron Carter 10-26-2003, 12:43 PM but if you need a head there are what is know as the Spanish or AMC heads available. http://www.aluminumheads.com/AMC.html Give them a call.
