K&N Air Filter directly on Intake...therozz 07-19-2003, 01:47 AM I've removed the air intake box with original filter, and replaced it with a K&N Air Filter. Thing is, I was wondering if it is possible to place the filter directly on the Intake manifold....well, I have already done this....as I have seen this done before. What I wanted to know is....what do I do with the three tubes which previously led from the air box to the engine block? Can I plug them? Are they absolutely necessary?? I figure these tubes bleed air from the box to the engine jacket to provide additional cooling to the already-cooled water by the radiator... Any suggestions? I'd like to just have a way to put the filter right on the intake manifold, below the scoop, doing away with the extra metal tube.....just need to know what to do with the three smaller bleed tubes.. Thanks!
