3d car i've been working on...

Been working on a 3d model of the Initial D Sileighty for a game coming out (hopefully soon :bigthumb: ) called Half-Life Rally... decided to make my own car for the game.. it's my first attempt at any 3d modelling.. made it using milkshape 3d (a low poly 3d modeller). please give me some feedback.. i should have it skinned within a day so it will look better. if you want more pics of the actual render let me know ^_^ i want some feedback!!! (just started this car several hours ago..)

Looks good.. but as always.. more polygons would sure get rid of the corners that are quite visible in some areas right now..

Perhaps you should try using 3ds?

yeah looks good but if you used max. you would get a better end project.


and it has a better render in it. but looks good.

had to use milkshape 3d cause i'm making it for a game that requires a low poly count ^_^ i'm sure later if i get a better 3d program to use i'll give it a try. being my first try at it i figured i best not get tangled up in tons of poly's. i know it could look better with more polys. we'll see later :) thanks

hey rsbousquet .... try flipping the normals of the polygons that appear black.
other than that... very neatly done and its very poly efficient. (keep us posted)

spaceratk: yes i realized that was a problem earlier today and fixed it ^_^ the car is completely skinned now (the wheels shown in the pic below are not final, i just wanted them shown for appearance sakes..) i'm not entirely happy with it anymore.. i didn't think about mirroring the side of the car at all, and by the time i did, i had already hand modeled the entire car. gah. so some things are not so symmetrical. i still have another days work ahead of me before this is all complete. i need to make joints on the inside of the car and probably model some new wheels. so many small things before i can use this in a game :) thanks for the feedback guys.. here's the latest screenshot (before i go to bed).. i will probably work on a new version of this model when this one is done.. more polys and more experience :)

OOPS forgot a rear pic... feedback please guys :) i won't be doing any major changes to this as it is.. but any minor fix suggestions would be appreciated :)

nicely textured only thing i can see is that some of the polys on the wheels ca be reduced without loosing quality.

Yah :) i put down 6 points in basicly a circle and smoothed the faces.. so it was basicly automatic there. i'm gonna make different wheels though cause it needs more points on it... i almost gave up on the model cause my textures were being weird.. then i reversed the face on most of my polys and opened the texture mapping editor ^_^ good times
