How cold is your AC?

Mine will give you rheumatoid arthritis if you keep the vents aimed on you too long. Anyone else have AC this cold in their Neon? I always think about how nice it would be to have a newer or better car, then on days like today when it's gonna be 118, I change my mind :)

The A/C in my '96 is also VERY cold, cold enough to give you what I can only describe as an "ice headache". The A/C in my '95, on the other hand, doesn't work.

It's got a small leak somewhere, but I don't have the money to have someone fix it. I don't know much about A/C systems, but I DO know I don't have to tools to work on 'em. ;)

That reminds me... I need to have the system checked in my '96 so it keeps working. I've never had it checked before...

Charging the AC system is fairly easy, you can get kits at the autoparts store for $25 or so. We replaced my compressor last year, that was a bit of a bear since the last time I let a shop work on it they stripped one of the bolts  That job took about an hour and a half. As far as replacing filters or O-rings, we haven't done that yet.

my a/c is pretty freakin cold. but if it gets too cold I just roll down the window or open the sunroof and let just a little bit of that hot, humid, MS air in and I realize I love my a/c!

Surprisingly the a/c in my '95 works great, I have heard that alot of the '95's have problems with their a/c systems, but mines damn bonechilling.

Very frosty! For a car that sat in a salvage holding yard for 2 years it does very well.

yeah the A/C In my 98 blows frigid winter air, I have to constantly turn it off

but lately I have a _small_ problem due to an idiotic mechanic, he left some of the wires that lead to the compressor in plain view of some belts... or whatever is down there... i forget if it's the compressor hell I'd have to look again.

the belt wore down 1 side of the wire and left the other one there which first blew a fuse in the power distrubution box... THEN we replaced that and it worked for a while and then finally the other wire got rubbed down before we realized what the problem witht he A/C was

it'd probably cost an arm and a leg to get it replaced so gonna have to be careful and re-solder it and hope it holds.

yeah me too , I have a 2000 and the AC is frigid, but the heat sucks lol, it didn't used to thou. I had someone ram into me in a mall parking lot the day after christmas and busted my power steering unit and radiator and my heat hasn't been the same since. dunno if that actually has anything to do with it but it just hasn't gotten as hot as it used to before the accident.
