So what do you guys do with you spent model boxes? Keep them or toss them.
They take up a lot of space I'm just really wondering if there is a good reason to keep them.

I used to ditch them. I would have some serious space issues if I kept them. Bad enough I barely had room for the models.:D

I cut the front off the box and keep it, the rest I chuck.
Dont ask me why I keep the front, but I just do, I have the front from every kit ive done.
I used to keep the whole box, and I used to keep them underneath my desk, but after a while there was no room for my feet anymore, so I cut the fronts, put them in a drawer and tossed the rest.

Normally I chuck 'em, but one of our cats has found a use for one of them. She curls up in it!! Strange animal.

Yeah, I lob em!
My parents moan I have too many kits, so getting rid of the finished ones boxes goes someway into making the collection look smaller!

I'm a keeper! :D ...of model boxes, that is. ;)
I find other parts and junk to keep in them. They don't take up too much room.

I cut the pictures off the sides so I can show people what the real thing looks like, then bin the rest.
Hey Daggerlee it's not the monsters' under your bed you should worry about, it's the burglars breaking in through your window!!
(Yes I know I stole the above from the John Smiths ad before any other UK member says anything!!)

When I left South Africa, I trashed all the models, and there boxes(the models were built), except one which is still packed away, waiting to be completed....in South Africa.
Now, I keep the boxes.
Generally, a kit I am busy with ends up occupying 2 boxes, keeps the parts all separated so there is less chance of damaging parts that are painted or assembled. Other boxes are used to store stuff, and I have a box which is my travelling tool box, for when I travel to the In-Laws so that I can take a few kits with me to hide away with.
I guess, as a rule you could say I keep the boxes I need.

I keep them, they make good places to store spare trees etc. I use my Revell ones to put an old model that I have taken apart to redo in, the Revell ones are a good size.

I ditch 'em, have enough stuff lying around with the 2 kids.
Got a real big tool box that I use for a parts bin and hide away in the cupboard when the missus decides we need a tidying spree.

they work great as a spray box.. put tape down.. then stick your little pieces to it.. spray.. flip.. and there you go.. no spray mess on the concrete

Keep 'em. Most of my kits are Tamiyas and as far as I'm concerned they're works of art. Besides the boxes come in different sizes and I just put boxes inside of boxes. I have two or three boxes inside a larger one to cut down on storage space. And even those larger boxes will fit into the box of my current 1/12 project. Someday I may flatten the covers and just keep those but for now I just can't bring myself to do that. Besides some of the Tamiya boxes with car cut-out drawings make the best reference material.

I stuff them under my bed, the current kit I work on I use the box as a storage for my supplies. :licker:

Same here, my cat seems to like tamiya boxes the best. :p
And I keep the front picture, there is a picture of an R34 skyline on my bed head (the thing I always seem to bump my head on!), so I can wake up in the morning and see a skyline :hehe:.
