im thinking about getting a cabriolet/cabrio but before i buy one i want to plan out what i would & could do to it. And i want to drop a engine but im not sure whihc one would be posibble & suit the car best. Im thinkin about a vr6, a 16 valve or even a 1.8t if that is possible. I have heard and read about other vr6 cabrio's. will the tranny on the stock cab beable to work with any of the engines ive listed because if i have to i would like to exchange it for a 6 speed. Does anyone no if thr has to be any body work to allow the vr6 to fit? the cab's which im intersted is the 1999 cabrio or the 1992 cabriolet.
please if anyone has information on this plz reply or if anyone has done this before.
thanks

the 92 Cabriolet is still the A1 chassis. It IS possible to swap in a VR6 but it is very time consuming and pretty expensive. There is a silver turbocharged one in Ohio. I would suggest going with a 1.8T, G60, or turbo 16V as they all bolt up to the stock transmission (the VR6 doesnt) and are relatively easy to install.
