Standard S2KMajorA 07-12-2003, 02:31 PM I promised that I would post some of my old cars so here is my most recent creation. It is a Tamiya S2K with the metal plated body. BTW. the metal plated body is worthless..... So i painted it Testors Bright Yellow. The inside is Black with grey insets in the seats. Here are the pics http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/266318front.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/451158side.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/618837rearAbove.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/135169interior.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/467909undercarrige.JPG I know there are a "few" errors. The Right headlamp actually fogged up for no aparent reason (ive never had that happen before) and there are a few spots where the brushstrokes are noticible on the inside. If you see any more errors post them up and any comments both good and bad are welcome... oblaise 07-12-2003, 02:43 PM Nice build it looks good, was it brush painted. The only thing I would have done differently was lower it a bit, but thats me. Whats wrong with the Metal Plated body? Towelboy80 07-12-2003, 02:43 PM Cool car, for the interior use maybe an airbrush for a better result. bah humbug 07-12-2003, 02:44 PM Looks great! MR-2RaCeR 07-12-2003, 03:05 PM Looks good!:bigthumb: Jay! 07-12-2003, 05:02 PM I'll point out one little detail, but on the S2000, it's an important one... The Engine Start Button: http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/267873s2000.jpg :D Overall, top work!!! Valentino 07-12-2003, 05:14 PM looks nice! love the color :bigthumb: MajorA 07-12-2003, 05:27 PM Thanks for all the comments guys, just some responses... The metal plated body was just really pointless because i just primered over it and then painted it like normal, i was hoping the body had a more finished look. I know i need to learn how to airbrush but i just dont think i have the patience for all the clean up. I did use spray cans on the body, i only brushed on the inside. Jay, very good point, which button is the red one?, ill touch that up (the one good thing about a convertible) matt hobbes874 07-12-2003, 06:46 PM :dogpile: Nice model :D the paint job is very nice :iceslolan Btw, I drove this car today........so......holy!! In the future, make sure to check and double-check your references... ;) I remember there was a similar debate on the colors for the lights on one of the newer Porsches.... MajorA 07-13-2003, 10:34 AM Ok, Jay, im gonna try to update those things. The real truth is that i need to start just looking at refrence pics. As a rule i just color to effect, basically do whatever i think looks best but i really need to start researching. Thanks for the pointers, looks like i have a bit of work to do  thanks Forhod 07-13-2003, 11:18 AM Nice dude, I am also doing one but stuck with the paint job. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
