I was kind of planning on buying the 240SX with the swap already done. There's a place here in FL called XAT racing who seems to do quite a bit of these swaps, sell already swapped 240's, and also sell other modded imports. Question is, does anyone know of these guys, their reputation, or anyone with first hand experience in dealing with them? Their website is www.xatracing.com (note: I checked the FAQ and didn't see anything related to either of my questions, so if I missed something, let me know) RalphCare 07-11-2003, 07:51 AM if ur looking for 1320 times, the sr is capable of high 14's or low 15's from what i've read... its not a drag motor, although it is tunable to perform well on the strip. the dohc KA is a better drag motor because its powerband is right near the 4500 rpm mark, right where it shines.. and if u Turbo the ka, u'll see some serious drag times. The ka , however, falls short of breath after 5700 rpm due to where its powerband is situated... someone correct me if im wrong. the difference between the sr and ka are much like motorcycles.. each one has a powerband where the car really pulls hard and the torque keeps up nicely. and the sr and ka are two totally different powerbands. much like a suzuki and a yamaha bike comparison. as for xatracing . i believe i've seen them on zilvia.net. and ive trailed along to their site a couple of times to compare SR20 parts. the best thing u can do is go there and test drive a car, or have someone take u for a spin, see how u like it. ImportNut1212 07-12-2003, 01:19 PM those 1/4 mile times you said, high 14's low 15's.....thats way off. maybe on a bone stock motor (7psi stock exhaust, stock IC). 13's come pretty easily with FMIC, exhaust, boost controller and a good clutch. the best i've seen on a stock turbo, was a 13.3. he has an FMIC, 3in. exhaust, set to 12psi, intake, and a high performance clutch. Th*GgEd_OuTtTt 07-12-2003, 02:41 PM WOWWWWW that's some wikked times ... 13.3 ... ... i'd love to get there... i just purchased my apexi n1duals next year i'll have my sr20det in my 95 240 ... i think i'd hit 13's easily when i get it... i'd have full exhaust system done including the down pipe... ... i was wondering if the t28 from the s14 sr20det uses the same downpipe as the t25 from the s13 sr20... i'm targeting 300rwhp by summer of 05' does this sound right? s13 sr20det with ras, metal head gasket t28 turbo from the s14 i'd set it to 14 psi full exhaust and an intake... is that okay? ImportNut1212 07-12-2003, 03:00 PM you wont make anything over about 270hp if you dont upgrade the mass air flow sensor to either a 300zx (z32) unit, or a cobra unit. the stock sr20det mafs cant read the flow which is required for above 270hp or so. with that comes along some ECU tuning as well. But not a bad start. ps----when your budgeting for your sr install, make sure you include a couple hunded bucks for un-expected things. also, if you wanna boost up to 14psi, your gonna need a front mount intercooler. Th*GgEd_OuTtTt 07-12-2003, 03:10 PM yah this place in t.o is doin the full swap for me... it's gonna be 4500 but with a nice new nismo clutch :) i'll prob do it when i'm at 6g's ... so i can use the 4500 for the engine and have 1500 sitting away... ... just incase... so after 6 month's id put the 1500 for the turbo, fmic. save like 2 more g's for the ras, head gasket, boost controller and possibly flywheel/carbon driveshaft... or aluminum... whichever one it is Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
