Motor Mounts

Hey I just got my car back from the shop, and the clutch and throwout bearing were fixed!

But now the front motor mount is broken

and the car doesnt go above 5 grand RPM or else it starts like choking or something, and the motor mounts are hitting or something

and there is a hissing noise that gets louder when i rev

is that due to the motor mounts?

or is something else fuked up?

i've been in cars with broken motor mounts, and yes, they do make the engine choke a little due to the whole engine rocking back and forth. but if it feels like you just lost 100 horsies, then that isnt the motor mount.. and to add to that, i wouldnt push the car hard with a broken mount, because my friend did and the motor shook violently and made a tiny dent on the inside of his BRAND NEW hood... the day he installed it. if any part of the engine happens to hit the hood with a broken motor mount, you will notice instantly that it leaves a dent because it vibrates so rapidly, like its hitting the metal 100 x for every second its there, so in turn, it will pound a nice dent in the hood for u :icon16:

My car personally LOL

Well I need new springs, battery, plugs, wires, windshield, right side, driver side front panel, paint job, LOL, tires, interior work,

Thats what u get for buyin a car driven by a 16 year old girl

As far as known problems for 240sx's in particular i dont know of any

Im pretty sure it was just that the last owner didnt take care of this car that well

and with me smashing it up, that didnt help either!

pop your hood, put your car in gear and pull the E-brake. Let the give it some gas and let some clutch out (but not all the way) and if the engine lifts up then you have a broken motormount. Do this in first gear and then do this in reverse to find the problem. The side that lifts up has the broken mount. Good luck.

Well a little late for that

last night i went to go to the store
I put her in reverse and

*clunk*

wtf?

no more clutch pedal

I think the throwout bearing came loose or something

but the guard or something riht under the fan in the front dropped a few more inches???? I dont think its a motor mount anymore

anyone know wtf this could be

It could be one of a couple of things. your pressure plate could have broken, your throwout bearing could have broken (very uncommon), or your slave cyl could be bad. But you say you heard screaching noise so I would bet my dollar it is the pressure plate or the bearing. Cant tell untill you pull the tranny.

ok well i played with it fo a little and the clutch pedal just needed to be pumped

and it wasnt reving so high so i asked a friend so he said get synthetic oil or something so i bought a quart and it helped a little but not that much

i think ill replace the air filter next, and than see what happens monday with the mechanic

anyone got any other ideas why its not reviing that high, only 5grand?
