True rally fans might mistake "EVO" for the real thing, Lancia Integrale EVO. :p ps. Thunda, i thought i had it bad!! :bloated: ales 02-02-2003, 11:37 AM Nowadays everything is an Evo - Octavia, 206, Accent (i think). freakray 02-02-2003, 11:44 AM I am not trying to start another fruitless debate here, but in the Lancia's case, EVO is short for Evoluzione and in the Lancer's case, Evo is short for Evolution. So technically you are both right. The Lancia also came in generations such as Evo1 and Evo2, and the Lancer has been released right through to EvoVII as a rally car. Then again, even the Peugeot 206 has come to an Evo2 stage now. So, as Crayzayjay correctly stated, you could mean either the Lancer or the Lancia there. ales 02-02-2003, 12:07 PM Some little buggin voice in my head keeps saying that Audi's efforts in rally were also victims of the Evolution thing. I could be very wrong, could someone in the know confirm this? Deakins 02-02-2003, 12:15 PM Yes they were. Big Pat 02-09-2003, 03:15 PM Some little buggin voice in my head keeps saying that Audi's efforts in rally were also victims of the Evolution thing. I could be very wrong, could someone in the know confirm this hmmm, not quite. Audi was left standing when rally rules changed at the end of 1986 (banning of group B cars). They had no car suitable to replace it in production at the moment. When production based car made their entrance (Group A) only Lancia had a suitable contender, the Delta 4wd. Audi entered the 200 (5000 is in North America) but they were far too big to be any good in twisty forest stages. ales 02-09-2003, 03:20 PM Not sure we're talking about the same thing here ;) What I meant is that Audi possibly used the word Evo or Evolution for some of their rally cars. Alex Twyzz 02-12-2003, 09:56 AM Mines the Opel. I'm surprised no one said it... Guido 02-12-2003, 01:22 PM Originally posted by Twyzz Mines the Opel. I'm surprised no one said it... It's not like I can buy a 206, or anything, since I live in the States. I also have a love of the boxer engine, and Porsche doesn't do the WRC. It's fine that you don't like it, but I always root for Subaru. Just me. ales 01-26-2004, 01:30 AM Well, it's just that they use WRC, not WRX in rally, that's all. neongtr 01-27-2004, 03:05 AM the impersa wrc is the car. because I can afford to get a road version of it.. Cobra01TT 01-29-2004, 11:26 AM Just since I haven't seen it on here yet. Ford Focus WRC Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
