the tachometer records the highest RMP reached during a race so that it can be viewed later. this photo was taken while i was still learning (and not driving that well). it shows my highest RPM as 15,720 RPM. in my most recent race, in the heat of battle i got it up to 15840.

well here is my car, lexus is200 se spec, bout £22000 quids worth to you sir, crap on the fuel, wish i had the cheap petrol from the states, it does 18 miles per gallon on a good day!! and we pay £0.76 per litre of unleaded, thats $1.22 a litre, and its 5 gallons to th litre i think! hmmmmm i wanna move to the states i think.

its all black with tinted windows, hoping to get my chrome 18" rims soon, bit like the ones on hiro boys black 350z. should be phat!

Hks muffler is on order soon, should sound nice but at £399 i bloody hope so, anyone have a mate with a performance shop?????

sorry for the moody pics. was getting pissed off coz the wind kept blowing the piece of paper, by the way my numberplate is my initials, chris paul mcgee, im not letting ya know the number at the front tho, only one digit, so that leaves you with 9 guesses!

Sorry, no pics to prove this is my ride but you can check my site and that will show this is mine.

It has a little bit of everything done to it, Motor swap, suspension upgrade, brake upgrade and basically anything else that helps the performance out. I have pulled a best of 14.2 @ 97.1mph w/ it so far in the 1/4 on street tires so not to bad for a little all motor 4 banger.

5 gallons to the litre?
Which school did you do math at

1 US gallon is 3.785 litres.....
I pay $1.39 a gallon for 89, which works out to .36c/litre US.

07-08-2003, 05:11 PM
oops, i typed the stuff in the wrong way round, oops sorry, everything is metric here, nothing is sold in gallons, i started school just as they completely phased out the imperial measurements, i prefer them anyway, but my car tells me i get 18 mpg so i just agree with it coz its clever!!!!

Dear god thats £0.22 a litre, nearly 4x cheaper than here, that is soooooo unfair, gonna cry now, i spend over £60 a week on petrol from just cruising around, i get the train into london so all my miles are pleasure miles, i think america and england should share the cost of the oil, so i get it for £0.40 a litre and you guys get it for $2 a gallon, i think its fair, hehehehehehhe

nice kart. i know 100 cc revs to 20000, but it depends on the class of course. im racing in formula TKM in england and the max recomended rmp for the engine is between 15500 and 16000. the only time i got it to 20000 was when the chain snapped, i thought the engine was going to blow up:lol:

so how long have you been racing? what class/championship are you in?

Hi, mine's Pedro

I've been racing go karts for 11 years now (started when I was 8 years old) and I've raced in every national class here in Portugal. I've raced in european championships too, Junior (100cc Piston Port) in 98 and ICA (100cc Reed Valve) from 99 to 02. the photo is from Argenville 2000.

Unfortunatly I've stopped and I've been only driving for fun like from month to month... :frown: :sly:

yeah i get quite a few street races in my baby, thats why i now gotta sort out her breathing with a filter and exhaust, in a year im gonna be getting the supercharger upgrade kit, shoud take it to around 230-240 bhp. not too shy for a straight six.

i have perfected the sideways drift on this baby, god i love rear wheel drive its so fun, my traction controll button is permanently off. so many boy racers get scared when the tempt me at fast corners to find me overtaking them round the corner drifting, hahaha, not so funny is the way it gets through tyres!!!!!! the rears seem to last about 2-3 months of driving, michelin piolet sports it think, and at over £300 a pair thats pretty crap life span.

cant wait to send this puppy to TDI tuning to get it lowered and tuned

I like it in this colour but what a pain to have it clean (and to keep it clean !!!).

I wash my car every week, how often do you ppl wash your cars ?
I clean the inside like once in two or three weeks (ride alone most of the time)
I really don't like to see cars with dust or bird escrements (?) lol the only dirt I like to see is brake dust in the rims :icon16: eheh and white rallying dust from when you go play on the gravel roads

btw another good thing in my escort is that engine :) it's an 1.6 diesel and it's got 270.000 km now and there's barely any oil consuption and in a normal ride it make 6.0 litres / 100 km. the only problem I got with him was some scratching in one or two gears and I had to open the gearbox. all the rest was just normal maintaince. and it has allways been full throtlle on it, like city, highway, gravel, everything. :P
there are thousands of engines like that in excelent conditions in junk yards but the next engine ford did, the 1.8 d fiesta boss for eg is almost extint cause it lasted far lass than the 1.6 previous generation...

Here are my 2 hatches and our newest addition to the familiy, a 91 240sx coupe. The light blue hatch is a 1986 Corolla SR5 and the grey one is a 1987 Corolla GTS.

I just purchased a 1985 Corolla GTS Coupe and I'll get pictures as soon as I get it home.

Enjoy

Brian, did you decide to get two corollas with the purchase of the new 240? I didn't know you had two other cars, and I didn't even know you got a 240! I guess I better get my ass back to the 240 forum .

Here's my car, these pics are a few months old. The first is from February and the second is from March. I don't have any new ones, but I don't imagine I ahve to prove that I have a '96 Civic DX. In these pics I'm racing it in SCCA solo events, where I will remain until I have enough money to buy a second, dedicated racecar for clubracing (read: years from now.) All I've done to her is Tokico Illumina shocks, Tokico springs, Nuespeed front strutbar, Skunk2 rear bar, Progress rear sway bar, and an AEM cold air intake. And, the Si rims which I am getting rid of in favor of Konig Heliums ($100 for 10lb wheels?? Can't beat that with a wet noodle!) I'm pretty competitive in my class, even with my SOHC non-Vtec since I've done all the work on suspension-- solo is all about driver skill and handling, but power does help....

Unfortunatly I've stopped and I've been only driving for fun like from month to month... :frown: :sly:

yea, i know how fustrating that can be. i have not raced in about 10 months due to school work and exams. i only got my race licence in january last year and i have only done 4 races so far. i am VERY inexperienced. im not doing too badly though:biggrin:

Actually its an American 240sx, only 5000 were imported with the trunk. most were hatchbacks or sil-eighties . i have a bad habit of calling cars by there real names such as i call Miatas there real name Eunos. sorry but i would like to make it JDM. the only difference is the front end. i can get the lights and grill and spoiler but not the hood. cost to much to ship to the states but im working on it.

Here is my `99 Firehawk. It is one of about 700 made that year. It is alot of fun to drive, especially with the 6 speed. I recently supercharged it, so it is about 525hp, and should be able to run 10 second ¼ miles and sub 4 sec 0-60 times if I can ever get traction.

First off is a pic of the car I use for work.
As I have to cover most of the UK for work I needed a good motorway/freeway car...
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/4726904.jpg
It's a vauxhall/Opel Vecra SRI 140, however its had a super chip mod, custom intake mod, 17" Wheels and some other bits done under the hood to make it go faster.

My weekend car is...

http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/980377IM000011.JPG
Mazda MX5 limited idition Icon.. 6 Speed, custom colour and interior.
I took this picture at the car dealers back in April when we bought her.
Love it to bits!! Even better than the last MX5 I blew up on a track day!!!
