1/8th Mile TimeBrand0137 07-06-2003, 11:03 PM last week i decided i would celebrate and take my car to the strip for the first time. it is an 97 civic ex nothin done really for perfomance just an intake and exhaust. i just bought the car 2 weeks ago and just wanted to see what it would do. i would have taken it to a quarter mile track but yea i dont know where one is here close within 200 miles. my fastest run was 11.313  i guess thats alright but i would like to see better. just tryin to see what you people thought. also i was thinkin about either keepin my engine or swappin over to a gsr engine or a prelude engine...i have about 3 thousand right now...just wanted to know what you guys would think would be better... by the way give me like a week or two and i will post some pictures of my car im too lazy to get the film developed  sorry about the colors on the time slip...kind of got messed up in wallet BullShifter 07-06-2003, 11:59 PM Take the 3 g's & have your engine built. blueprint/balance/deck/bored/honed all that good stuff dont forget about the head. Then stuff it with all the go fast $hit.:bigthumb: N/A! if want turbo build the engine for turbo use, save another 3 g's & slap a turbo on it. Options 07-08-2003, 07:18 PM Yeah, dude keep practicing those aint bad times at all for your first run, but you definatly got some room for improvement, because my best 1/8 time is 10.49 and i drive a dx, so you should be able to beat me, next time you go to the track lower the air pressure in your front tires, to about 20lbs of air pressure, so you can get better traction. So keep practicing you will be able to get better. Brand0137 07-09-2003, 12:36 AM heh well i didnt notice but after i left i went to the gas station cause my car was ridin kind of funky and checked the tire pressure and it was at like 24 pounds......but yea i didnt really get good starts and didnt try speed shifting or anything just normal shifts, but i plan to go back up there this weekend with a couple of my friends just to have some fun but i will try lowerin the pressure down to 20 just to try it and i will post up the time slips when i get them Options 07-09-2003, 05:17 AM Oh, i forgot when you go to the track, go with almost no fuel in the tank. Just enough to get there and back and do a few runs. I usually run with the gas light on, you would be surprised how much you wieght and time you can save by running with less gas. BasicNeon 07-10-2003, 01:43 AM That 11 sec 1/8 is probably good for a mid 17's 1/4 mile. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
