View Full Version : limited slip differential limited slip differential mynismo 07-06-2003, 01:06 AM i want an lsd in addition to my underdrive pulley to give me some serious power. i heard the lsd can take almost a sec off 0-60 time... is that right? also anyone know of where i can get a nice not-expensive lsd? what year to fit? im looking at one on ebay right here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33731&item=2422374982 RalphCare 07-06-2003, 04:12 AM yeah ive heard of LSD's shaving off more time on modded cars, simply because they get both wheels movin at same speed at same time off a launch... that lsd on the auction looks ok .. but why not wait till u got more money and go get a Kaaz or Cusco. they arent VLSD's like the one ur lookin at.. the vicious coupling is a little crappier than the straight LSD, its alot cheaper to make thats why. RalphCare 07-06-2003, 04:14 AM and those are all 1 way LSD.. get a 1.5, its suitable for street use. i hear 2.0 way isnt mynismo 07-06-2003, 10:15 AM Originally posted by RalphCare and those are all 1 way LSD.. get a 1.5, its suitable for street use. i hear 2.0 way isnt isn't suitable for street use.... what? its a differential. its definately legal, it has nothing to do with emmissions. i heard vlsd is better. no way im paying over 200 for it. Corey I RanciD 07-06-2003, 12:37 PM I'm assuming he means not suitable because a 2 way differential is pretty much the same as a locked differential except when you're going around a turn. The oil needs to be changed in them every 3,000 miles. It's a hassle in a street car. RalphCare 07-06-2003, 06:13 PM that sorta what i meant.. i just read on a website that the 2 way diffs are for highspeed track racing and sacrifice alot of low speed driveability. they are usually brought in for maintenance before every event. the 1.5 ways are a normal chore for anyone who babies their car anyways.. like if u change ur oil at the recommended 5000 mile mark all the time, then 1.5 ways wont be a problem for u. ill find the site. gimme a while J SPEC SilEighty 07-06-2003, 06:28 PM I'd just keep looking around here for an R200 (or pick up that one on ebay). If you just plan on using your car on the street than I probably wouldn't spend the extra money on a Kaaz, Cusco, or a quaife.
