97 accord ex 4cylinder 5speed battery light on, slowly losing electrical capacity (odometers stop working, then dash lights/electrical clock, then turn signals, then dies while running
Already replaced alternator AND new battery. But battery light never went off. May have my fault because I floored it in first gear to almost redline.

Sounds like it's still not charging. Time for voltmeter testing.

There should be an alternator fuse. Check it. If its blown it will act just like the alternator is bad.

So your gonna want to test the alternator and battery, but let me drop an anecdote here.

I had intermittent charging issues on my accord last year.
Car would run fine, but often would need a jump in the morning because the battery was flat.

I started by cleaning the battery contacts with cleaner and wire brush.
Problem persisted.
Had the battery replaced because it was under warranty.
Problem persisted.
Replaced the alternator and serpentine belt because the battery wasn't charging.
Problem persisted.

Finally, I bought some heavy duty battery post clamps from auto part store. I sliced off the Honda clamp and spliced the new clamps on.

Problem fixed, never had another issue.
Good luck :)

Time to break out the volt meter ( possibly an amp clamp if you have one ).

Check for voltage drops everywhere on all of your connections.
