R32 GTS-tU.K. R33 GTS-t 11-16-2001, 12:58 AM Hi there, I am taking delivery of a R33 GTS-t skyline (1994) very soon. Please could you answer the following newbie questions for me!!! 1.) What are its Specs (BHP/0-100 KM/Max Speed)? 2.) What B.H.P. could you expect with an air filter, exhaust and boost controller? Would this still be reliable? 3.) Are there any members here from the U.K., in particular, Norwich! Thanks for taking the time to help me out! Philip. P.S. So long to the WRX!!! :finger: palmer_paul 11-16-2001, 01:14 AM Phillip, What are you doing up so late!!!, Where are you getting your Skyline from? I don't have any figures, but of of the guru's here will sort you out, I am in the Midlands, But The only Skyline members that i know of are the UK GT-R register. Not sure if they look down there nose at us mere mortals(non GT-R ). Give me details of why you chose a Skyline. Paul. U.K. R33 GTS-t 11-16-2001, 01:24 AM You mean what am I doing up so early!!!:D I saw the car yesterday, and now I cant sleep!:bloated: It is a burgandy red colour, in mint condition. 40K miles. I paid £6995, which I think is bloody amazing! I have always wanted a skyline, but never could find a good one before! That is why I bought the Impreza WRX previously. However, when I found the Skyline, I just had to go for it. I know it will be a bit slower than the WRX, but that's nothing a few mods won't cure!!! Cheers for replying, give us a call if you are anywhere near Norfolk, and want to meet! Philip palmer_paul 11-16-2001, 01:31 AM Phillip, Did you do your homework on the Insurance?, I was shocked when I sorted mine out it pays to shop around, I had to have a Cat1 Alarm, and Tracker for a non-turbo version!!!!!!!!. Is yours from a dealer?, It's worth getting it HPI'd. Regards, Paul. P.S Why are you up so early, couldn't sleep, Exciting isn't it a new car, I have always wnated a Skyline since 1989, but couldn't afford one, If you need any advise were to get bits for your car drop me aline I ahve some good contacts abroad, there are cheaper even with shipping. palmer_paul 11-16-2001, 01:32 AM Phillip, sorry the english is crap...late night working starting to faulter now!!!!!! regards, Paul. TINDUCK RACING 11-16-2001, 10:12 AM Hi there you two...it's good to see some more GTS boys in the UK..... Philip: 250bhp standard,0-100 depends on manual or auto...top speed 100mph until you cut the limiter... ...go for the exhaust and filter ..no huge gains, but feels more lively and sounds the bizz:D ....don't think about messing with the boost until you've fitted an ACCURATE boost gauge.....and you don't want to go over 10psi with the R33's ceramic turbo....not to be confused with the higher-boosting R32 GTS-t.... ....and just scour the forums for gems of advice.... Have fun, Jon. TINDUCK RACING 11-16-2001, 10:16 AM Paul: where are you then ??(Midlands) Jon. moondog 11-16-2001, 03:08 PM G-sport 11-16-2001, 04:01 PM Ahh another midlands owner enters the fold !!!!!! Nothing worse than having towait for new toys !! G. palmer_paul 11-16-2001, 04:14 PM HI, Already have my Toy, although it's a 4 door non-turbo version R32. Are you fairly knowledgeable about the Skyline?, Do you know if all the Skylines have speed limiters on them?. If so is the ECU located under the passenger seat, or under the Kick plate(Door sill)on the passengers side, I live in Solihull, west mids, were are you. Regards, Paul. G-sport 11-16-2001, 04:39 PM HI, yes they are limited but if your car has been calibrated to MPH by gear drive conversion instead of new speedo face you wont see the limiter. If your speedo reads max of 120 mph you have a limiter if it reads 180 mph you dont. Ecu is located on passengers side footwell ahead of door. G. palmer_paul 11-16-2001, 04:42 PM Thanks for the reply, My car is caliprated in KLH,What does this signify?, The speedo goes to 180KLH. p U.K. R33 GTS-t 11-16-2001, 04:55 PM Thank you for the replies, Gents! The test drive went superb, so I am picking up the Skyline tomorrow! To say I am very excited would be an understatement! By the way, it is from a dealer, and HPI checked O.K. Do you all fancy meeting up so we see each other and our cars for real? We all seem to live reasonably close to each other! Regards, Philip:) palmer_paul 11-16-2001, 05:00 PM Phillip, Why not, lets try and meet half way, any suggestions? Paul. U.K. R33 GTS-t 11-16-2001, 05:36 PM Paul - You got Mail! P.S. I'm off to TRY and get some sleep now! Cheers, Philip. NiteskyR 11-17-2001, 09:32 AM wayhay , WELCOME to the real world. U.K. R33 GTS-t 11-17-2001, 03:05 PM Got my R-33 GTS-t today!!!:flash: :flash: :flash: It is bloody brilliant! I have never know a car so easy to drive, and so quiet at speed ( though never more than 70 m.p.h. of course!:bandit: ) It is in superb condition, I even have Skyline car mats in mine, and it looks like the previous owner looked after it very well! The looks did seem to annoy the driver of a jaguar, who was following about 5 c.m. off my bumper...until my foot slipped on the accelerator pedal! Why don't we have a U.K. GTS meet? Anyone know any other GTS boys out there? Cheers, Philip.:frog: TINDUCK RACING 11-17-2001, 07:34 PM .............ready when you are dude............. (give it a week though 'til I get this bloody new heater matrix fitted) laters Jon TINDUCK RACING 11-17-2001, 07:35 PM Nitesky: where are you then dude?? Jon TINDUCK RACING 11-17-2001, 07:44 PM G-sport: Hi there stranger...how ya doing?....strange to meet a UK fellow owner on a NZ site, and then on a US one....funny old world.... Quote: If your speedo reads max of 120 mph you have a limiter if it reads 180 mph you dont. ....mine reads 180 but I had a limiter at 100...how so dude?? laters Jon. palmer_paul 11-17-2001, 07:52 PM Tinduck, You aren't to far a way from me, Im in Solihull, Birmingham, Trying to arrange a meet next week with R33 GTS-t. If you are interested let me know. You seem to be the man regarding limiters Mine has KLH and 180 the max, would this have a limiter, It's a R32 4 door non-turbo. Regards, Pablo TINDUCK RACING 11-17-2001, 08:15 PM Hi there Paul/Pablo.... ....a meet would be cool...gotta be after Monday 26 Nov (next Monday) though....car is awaiting fitting of long-awaited heater matrix....undriveable at the moment..... G-sport is pretty local.....Philip seems a distance away though....any suggestions for a "half way" meeting point that we can all agree on?? .....dunno about the limiter though....what G-sport says seems to make sense, but both of my Skylines have had 180mph speedos, and both had limiters..... ....4 doors are cool....here's my previous ride.... laters, Jon. TINDUCK RACING 11-17-2001, 08:16 PM ...and another.... palmer_paul 11-17-2001, 08:22 PM Jon(Tinduck), Where did tinduck come from?. The speedo on mine is 180KLH, not MPH, Does this make a difference, also do you have pics of your recent gem?. Will arrange with R33 GTS-t for another week then, he wanted to meet at Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire. Mine was imported personally form japan. Drop me aline when you get chance. regards, Pablo TINDUCK RACING 11-17-2001, 08:39 PM ....the original dials read 180kph (=klh).....if you have had what is basically a dial kit fitted to make the dial read up to 120 mph, then the 100mph limiter will still be there....but as G-sport was saying, if you have had a reduction thingy fitted, and just a sticker put over the kmh/klh bit to say mph, then you will never reach the limiter in theory......but as your car is still in kmh, then you will probably still see the limit at 100mph or 160kmh....... ......clear?? :D ....pics of new turbo coupe imminent... ...as for TinDuck....you gotta work that out yourself.....:D :D (think fast turbo fords) cheers dude Jon. palmer_paul 11-17-2001, 09:45 PM Jon(tinduck), I get where you are coming from regarding tinduck!!!!. I understand now about the limiter(finally sunk in...boy that must have been painful for you!!!!!!). Must get together somtime, would be nice to get a middle england meet somewhere. Must now try and sort out getting rid of this limiter!!!!!.....now what was it again.!!!!!!!!. Is there any real gain in a non-turbo Skyline getting rid of the limiter? Respect  G-sport 11-18-2001, 04:16 AM U got it Jon, I knew someone would understand what i was trying to say soon enough. Maybe i should have explained about the speed limiter in more depth. I'm always up for a meet and try to go to the gtr ones when i can, anyway must go know off to santa pod as it's the last day this year today. G. NiteskyR 11-18-2001, 06:01 AM portsmouth jon as for the limiter on jap cars it should be set at 112 mph. ure speedo should read in mph now up to 180 its against the law for it not to , should of been done when it was sav tested, generally when they do this they remove the limeter. u can get it done anyway. abbet motorsport south london, middlhurst st hellens , hi teq wigan , option motorsport near silverstone . are a few skyline specialists. if u need 2 know anything e mail me niteskyr@aol.com U.K. R33 GTS-t 11-18-2001, 03:52 PM Hey G-sport, I was at Pod too! Attached is a photo of my car, did you see it? By the way, I am meeting Paul Palmer at Grafham water on Thursday, is anyone else interested in turning up to make this a mini meet? Cheers, Philip. U.K. R33 GTS-t 11-18-2001, 03:54 PM Oops! That was a bit LARGE wasn't it!:eek2: Sorry about that! Philip:frog: G-sport 11-18-2001, 05:37 PM Hi Philip, i did see your motor as i spoke to the lad who had parked just in front of you, just had his car a week. Mine was the silver 32. G.:D TINDUCK RACING 11-18-2001, 05:56 PM ...JEEZUS mate that's a bloody big car....:D :D :D hehehe Jon. palmer_paul 11-18-2001, 06:07 PM Jon, will try and arrange a meet sometime when is suitable for all, R33 GTS-t was arranging one this week, but if we can all meet up when your car is back on the road, that will be fine. I will make an attempt at the speed limiter tomorrow, Is there enough room to anable wire cutters to cut wire 53?, or is it limited space?. Now let me see....passenger footwell right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Pabs TINDUCK RACING 11-18-2001, 06:13 PM Hi dude....yes, plenty room......just take the panel off and have a nose round....you'll see what you're up against.....the loom at the ECU end is quite tightly wrapped, but you can find wire 53, note the colours of it (CAREFULLY) and cut it a bit further back, where the loom is a little easier to access......this will also make it easier to re-connect a wire if need be at a later date..... ....car back on road in 8 days and counting.....:D :D cheers Jon. palmer_paul 11-18-2001, 06:24 PM Jon, Thanks again for your advice, Us Brummies are known for being dimmer than a badger!!!!!!!!!. Will try tomorrow and let you know how it goes, What top end am i likely to expect with the dreaded wire cut?. Any extra hoses are always useful. Can you recommend any after market Back box exhaust?. Questions............questions...........questions ....ehhh. It's only that you seem an old hand at this game...(not so much of the old!!). pab. TINDUCK RACING 11-18-2001, 06:47 PM Hi there... top end? ....dunno.....'pends on how straight the road and how much ya value ya licence dude :D  (it's just good to know that you ain't got a 100mph limit anymore......you never know when it'll come in useful hehehe) ....as for exhausts, I left my non-turbo stock, but the turbo was begging for a full HKS Hiper Muffler.....stupidly expensive, but I had to have it....ordered it the day I picked the car up....took 4 weeks to come from Japan......still be paying for it by the time it falls off :D ...I'm not really an old hand, I just ask loads of questions on these forums....and try to keep the truth from the speculation and bullshit.... anyways, see ya soon, take care Jon. palmer_paul 11-18-2001, 06:53 PM Jon, Thanks again...is the limiter wire the same on the R32 as the R33?. what line of work are you in?. Did you have to have a tracker fitted to your motor?. No more questions promise....have agood one. Pab TINDUCK RACING 11-18-2001, 07:06 PM hehehe don't worry dude....questions are good.....better than blindly going in and stuffing up your pride and joy...... ....yes, the wire is the same....but I'm not sure that the colours are the same, which is why I've not mentioned the colours of the wire, just given a location on the diagram of the ECU..... ....as for line of work, it's car spares, normal stuff mostly.... .....as for security, don't be offended, but I wouldn't tell my best friend what I've got fitted over the internet.......suffice to say,I don't exactly live in the best area in the world, but it was still there last time I looked:D laters Jon. palmer_paul 11-18-2001, 07:29 PM Jon, Spot on....It doesn't pay to say what you have or haven't got security wise...It's not the best area where ever you live!!!, My brother in law was broken into 2 weeks ago...in the middle of the night through a small window no bigger that 2 foot wide, they were asleep up stairs...and they stole his keys to a BMW(YAK!!) 5 series convertable...robbed his kids money box £5...but really they wanted his car. they didn't hear the car going or anything it even had an alarm fitted. And in the bargain they found the keys to his missus Land rover discovery. That's life as they say!!!!!!! see ya, Thanks again. Pab. TINDUCK RACING 11-19-2001, 05:33 AM ....thanks, I won't be able to sleep now........ :D :D :D Jon. TINDUCK RACING 11-20-2001, 04:17 PM Calling Pablo...and Philip....and G-sport...and Nitesky.... .....see ya on SDU....UK section....... laters Jon. U.K. R33 GTS-t 11-21-2001, 03:44 PM Doesn't look like many people have found the new section yet!:alien: Cheers, Philip.:frog: TINDUCK RACING 11-21-2001, 06:32 PM ....saw ya lurking there last night, but ya didn't say hi..... laters Philip Jon vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
