2010 Focus SE Transmission Whine

Howdy
I have a 2010 Focus SE with 70,000 miles. I first noticed the transmission whine when I would accelerate while turning from stop. It would go on for a while, then disappear. Now it's whining even if I accelerate in a straight line.
The transmission is shifting okay, and no noise heard at highway speed. The transmission is full of fluid, and the fluid is normal red without any burnt smell.
The car has been serviced at the dealer per the schedule since new.
Any ideas? Thanks
