Just like the title said. I really want to visit model shops while I am in Tokyo, Japan. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Yellow Submarine in Akihabara (http://www.yellowsubmarine.co.jp/shop/shop-059.htm) has a lots of stuff but if you want to buy things cheap you'd be better off visiting Yodobashi Camera. There are one in Shinyuku and also in Akihabara.
Some other big electric shops also have plastic models (Bic Camera, Yamada denki)
Tamiya shop in Shinbashi (https://www.tamiya-plamodelfactory.co.jp/info-shop/) also a good place to get rid off some of your money....

Also if you have time and some extra cash, it's worth visiting Shizuoka... 2 hours from Tokyo and all Plastic model companies are there. ;)

Good luck!

I agree with the shops listed in the link from Penta. There were similar posts on another plastic car model forum that I use as reference:

My personal recommendation would be to go to Akihabara. If you are after older out-of-production kits you must visit Leonardo LG and Leonardo ET; both a 5 minute walk from Akihabara station.

If it is nice weather you can then take a nice ~30 minute walk past the Imperial Palace to Shimbashi and the Tamiya Plamodel shop. This is a must see for any modeller; they literally have at least one of everything! You can also pick up spare sprues and decals at very reasonable prices.

Be warned though, it may be hard to visit all these stores and not buy anything. So you may need to consider how much luggage space!

Your first stop should be Yodobashi in Akihabara. The price is good and you can get tax refund for purchase over 5000 yen if you show your passport at the tax free register counter.

There is also Finishers in Ueno (https://m.facebook.com/Finishers-%E3%83%95%E3%82%A3%E3%83%8B%E3%83%83%E3%82%B7%E3%8 3%A3%E3%83%BC%E3%82%BA-614917868519205/). They are always closed on Tuesdays, best to check with them if you want to visit.

Hobby Off sells second hand items, from time to time you can find rare out of production kits. Below stores with phone number starting with 03 are near Tokyo, just copy and paste the address on the second column to Google map to find the location. They are also tax free shop.

If you have facebook, contact Andre Pantarotto. He is an excelente braziliam modeler who works for a company that also has business in Japan, so he used to travel to there a lot and he knows the best places to visit regarding modeling.
