'Newbie' here! I have a 2001 Lincoln Town Car and it starting making a noise that I'm having a hard time describing. OK, I'm old and I'm a chick and if it's something to big for me to tear down and fix, I don't want to get screwed (w/o a kiss) from a mechanic. :)
It's not a belt squeal and I can't really pinpoint where it's coming from. Soooo, I've uploading a zip file (because there is no allowance for an mp3) If anyone can help ID this I would really appreciate it!
TIA :uhoh:

I’m not certain but I had a horrible metal to metal scraping sound that turned out to be my tailpipe hanger rotted and I allowed my left muffler to scrape on the driveshaft
Of course mine is 95 with rear wheel drive but it cost me 8 dollars for the rubber bit and only ten minutes to get it put on
It’s worth a look
I hope that the problem gets resolved easily for you
