considering ALL of these SUVs in the 20-30K price range..considering ALL aspects (Transmission, looks, performance, towing, features) which one would u buy over the rest??

and why?

I wouldn't buy any of them. I would rather have a fully functional SUV.

Endevour, Murano, Element and Rendezvous all get a big FUCK NO!!!!!!! from me.

Highlanders sound allright- but I don't know much about them

I'd say go with the Sorrento- not a bad vehicle at all

Go with the Murano, great transmission and decent power. Although I'm sure it would fall behind off road but how many people actually take their Suburban Utility Vehicles offroading anyways?

Shoot yourself for thinking the Honda Element and the Kia Sorento are SUV's.... :biggrin2:

i would go with a murano.....the only one of the lineup that looks good.....plus it has a cvt transmission and the VQ engine.....

me too. the VQ35's a real nice engine. but cvt has nothing to do with the tranny. and it's cvvtc
it's continuously variable valve timing control. it's like V-tec but it's not set to a specific rpm range. kinda like i-vtec i think
hell no to the multi-colored honda element. i'd ride my old mongoose bicycle before i drove a kia. the YOTA's probably not bad but i don't know much about them. the others don't really move me either way.

get the infiniti FX45:wink:

Actually CVT does have to do with the transmission. It means Continuosly Variable Transmission.

Kia Sorento, no doubt. Looks like a Lexus, just much cheaper!

yeah, but i didn't think they used it in the Murano. i've seen them in saturns like the Vue and the ion and the honda insight has it as an alternative to the 5 speed automatic they also have. i could be wrong. If they do use the CVt's in the murano's then that's another reason to get one. nice and smooth and improved gas milage

i thought the other guy was referring to cam-phasing

well it has for sure CVT and i was refering to the transmision.......the only other cars with it that i know of are the audi.....i belive they developed it after an ideea that Davinci had---that guy was amazing

also the variable timing is not vtec.......vtec is variable timing and lift....... so its a bit beyond that......

I'm not particularly fond of road-going SUVs (read: I hate them), but if I had to pick one, it'd be the Murano:

VQ35DE: The new Nissan mainstay. Everybody knows this engine. Twin-turbo Murano, anyone?
Extroid CVT: Not just any CVT, the best design on the market.
It's a Nissan: Sometimes, that's all it takes to convince me.

I don't know about the Highlander specifically, but Toyota is more likely to equip their vehicles with off-road suspension - just in case you wanted a real SUV. Don't be one of those poor unforunte idiots who buys a 4Runner expecting a cushy commute. :grinno:
