Sileighty Kaido racer style

Onto the 3rd project for 2017. The Takegawa Monkey can wait lol.

Was on holiday and found this on Instagram and it gave me inspiration to do something similar.

So I got the Fujimi Sileighty kit and began test fitting the Aoshima wide steel wheels.

The rear end might be a bit more difficult.

Also started on the buttress hatch.

Also filled the 3rd stop light as the spoiler is covering half of it.

Stripped chrome, primed and painted wheels semi gloss black.

Adjusted the front suspension to fit the wheels. The rear guards need widening. Grounded the guards with a diamond file on the dremel.

Then started to putty the rear guards. Taped the car to the fluro light to help cure 😂

Shaped the rear arches.

Then primed to see imperfections and touched up.

I then used Mr Hobby filler 500 to fill the small lines next to the light curing putty. One day I will try to thin and use as a filler primer.

Got a lot of painting done in the last few days.

Base coat Tamiya white.

Then using Mr Colour for the first time. Italian super red.

Rubbed it down with Tamiya 2000 grit sanding foam.

Coated with Tamiya clear thinned with Tamiya Lacquer thinners and one drop of Mr Leveling thinners.

Decals and sealed with clear again.
