There is a lot of information available on OBDII, but to some extent, what's available depends on the model. If you're referring to OBDI, that was much more manufacturer-specific as to what information was available and the format of that information.
OBDII standardized a lot of the "generic" information yet still provided opportunities for the manufacturer to have their own specific data as well. While the format is rather universal, there are still different protocols used throughout the years and models.

Toyota was pretty good about including quite a bit of data over OBD2. I don't have any specific documentation for 1998 Toyota though.

Search online for Toyota PIDs and your find lists of data provided at the OBDII connector. However, not all code readers support the full set of PIDs. For example, my Actron 9185 doesn't support all of the PIDs that are available from my vehicles, and it does not support ABS or Body codes.
