Hi, I just bought a new ignition key from a dealer and I was told about a procedure to make it recognize from the car. This precedure doesn't work, Can anybody tell me the correct one? This was 10 min key on, 10 seconds off for three times..
Thank you!

That is a PassLock key....it needs No programming, because it is a blank key.....

If your problem is, you turn the key, and the engine does not turn over, or it turns over, but doesn't start, the problem is not your key....

Agreed. Unless GM did something screwy with export models, or with options I don't know about, the key (or vehicle) don't need "programming" to work.

I have a 2003 LTZ 4.2, had some generic spare keys made. I shove them in the lock cylinder, and the engine starts when the key is turned.

I will go back to the dealer again then... Key costs 57 euro and a spare remote about 200 euro.. not cheap though. By the way I'll let you know. Thanks

My generic key from an independent locksmith was about six dollars.

I think your vehicle has a key system that's not used in America.
