get an installation harness for the car, save yourself a LOT of trouble

Many people refer to them as quick connects, but yes get one instead of hacking your factory harness. The quick connect wires will match the colors of the new radios wires. Aftermarket radios and the quick connects are pretty much standardized. For instance on the radio wires red is switched 12v, yellow is constant power, black is ground, blue/white is remote (amp turn on), blue is power antenna, etc, etc.

With it you will plug directly into your factory harness.
