Vg30dett Swap To A 92 PickupMotoman363 07-01-2003, 03:34 PM I have a 92 4X4 king cab with a VG30DE. I want to put in a VG30DETT. I am looking for someone that has done this, or something close. I am open for any imput that might help. I do know that the motomounts are the same. If you have done this, I would welcome any info. you could provide. Thanks, AREITU 12-15-2003, 06:06 AM Ask unstable-hybrids.com vg33sc510 09-14-2004, 02:54 PM You May Want To Reconsider The Dett Swap As They Barely Fit In The 300zx. That's Only Half The Problem...have You Ever Seen The Size Of The Tranny???? Not Only Will You Have To Cut Up Your Engine Bay To Custom Fit The Turbos, Proably Modify Your Steering Shaft, But You'll Have To Butcher Your Tranny Well. Go Down To A Dealership And Sit In A 300zxtt, Then Take A Hard Look At The Tranny Well From Inside And Below. There Is Also The Problem Of Bulletproffing Your Diffs. If You Had A 2wd It May Be A Bit Easier As Only The 4wd Have That Large Altimeter In The Engine Bay. Here's An Option, Check A Vg30et And Modify The Crap Out Of It. You Have More Tranny Options And Room On The Passenger Side Of The Engine Bay For A T28. Keep In Mind That The First Gen 300zx Put Out 200hp With 7 Psi And No Intercooler. But If You're All Up For Doing The Vg30dett, You Should Ask People That Have Taken Their Normally Aspirated 300zx And Twinned It. They'll Let You Know What You Have In Store Electronically, And Plumbing Wise. Don't Have Too Much Fun Zgringo 09-18-2004, 07:28 PM vg33sc510 read what Motorman says, he has a VG30DE in there already. Have you ever made this swap? If not do some research. Motorman, if it was me I'd put a VH45DE in. Lighter, more HP than a VG30DETT, and alot more torque. The VH engine is 'bout 100lbs lighter than a VG30DETT engine. I know, as I'm putting one in a Z32 right now, not only that, if you use the VH45 bellhousing your VG30DETT transmission well bolt right up. Just make sure you use a 4 row rad. for cooling. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
