I'm trying to help my busy friend diagnose the problem with his 1994 crown Vic police interceptor. It dies at stop signs and then won't start back up till after waiting like 5-10 minutes. I asked him if his check engine light is on. He said yes, so I looked up how to retrieve the codes with a jumper wire as I have on older vehicles of my own. I found that information but can't locate the terminal. He said other symptoms are poor fuel economy and sluggish performance. My friend is so busy and pinched for cash he's been driving like this for over a year. Any advice about what I can test or check would be great. My friend is 74 yrs. Old he works 15 hrs a day and if I can fix this for him it's one less problem he has to worry about. Thanks guys

This is a problem with Ford engines. At parts store search camshaft position sensor for his engine. Usually the test adapter is around the steering column or under dash drivers side.
Advanced Auto and Auto Zone checks codes for free.
Various code testers are offered on ebay.
Be careful as you will get a 1/2 blink which testers ignore.
