dropped cap from oil bottle in engine

Yeah, I am an idiot. I accidently dropped the cap from a bottle of oil into the engine and can't see it. Will it blow up the engine, or will it get chewed up in the process and break down and come out on the next oil change? It is a northstar 2002 STS w/167,000 miles on it and am not going to pay to take the engine apart. It was one of the 'smaller' plastic caps, it was dark and will try to spot it when I have more light, but I couldn't see it with a good flashlight. Any help/opinions (not on how stupid I am) will be greatly appreciated. jjfahn X(

Find another cap.....

No worries- since plastic- it will find a forever home. Just look every time you add oil- you might see it again..

Just curious. Did you drop the cap into the oil filler opening or just in the engine compartment?

brcidd: Thanks, that is what a friend told me. I am going to start it today and see if anything else happens. And yes, it was dropped into the oil compartment, northstars, always have to check the oil. Thanks for the replies. :-)
