If you're a 5-speed and know how to launch, it shouldn't be a problem.

You still have a pretty good chance. I think, but I'm not sure, that those cars would get hp increases every couple of years. So, the older the cars are, the better chance you have against them. I'm thinking that you should still be able to take them, provided the guys aren't modded.

if youre auto and stock youre probably going to lose. if theyre auto it will be a fair match but if the others are 5 speeds (if they can drive them) you will lose.

You've got it, I smoke V6 stangs all the time and mines an Auto :thefinger

Camaro, probaby same deal, though where I live there's only V8's because of the massive redneck population.

BTW All I have is Intake. :bigthumb:
That and my mad skillz as a driver :biggrin2: :iceslolan

Depending which version of the V6 Camaro it is. If it is the 215hp rs then good luck.

Actually, the latest Camaro V6's are rated as low 16-second cars, while the latest Mustang V6's are rated as mid-low 15-second cars. If it's a '99 or newer 5-speed 'Stang, it'll be close.

If it is really a 98 v6 stang you shouldnt have to much trouble unless your car is really slow. With just a cold air intake it would be in the 16s, but a 99 or newer would be mid 15s. Back when I had my 95 v6 and it was stock, I got walked pretty good by an early 90s maxima also stock.

Ya I have to agree with what was said above but if it is the dual exaust camaro rs v6 manual you might have a problems there.

i raced v6 camaros a while ago when i was closer to stock and burned them. (I'm an Auto..)

they really have nothing on you. i think the mustang will be harder to beat, but you should still take care of him.

That would be Kenny brown. Well known, excellent suspension parts. Also offers a kit to stroke the 3.8 out to a 4.2 liter v6. Those are some really bad times if it was a 99 or newer.

you have mad "skillz" as a driver? how can the driver even be involved if its an automatic... same car with both automatic transmissions they'll tie unless 1 is way fatter than the other or someone botches their reaction time...

The new v-6 mustangs weigh a lot more than the older ones so I would imagine they are a lot slower.

The supercharged kenny brown v-6 ran an 8.5 to sixty which is slower than my saturn.

I dont think the new V6 are that slow. I have read case where people with the one factory GT looking exaust (5 more hp than regular v6 and was known as the anniversary V6 edition) with a intake and polished ports taking out 95-98 V8 mustangs GTs

Um, no. They 94-98 V6 Mustangs weigh the same give or take 25lbs as the 99+ model. Same with the V8's. BTW, a 17sec time is pitiful for any V6 mustang unless it is a pre-99 auto with a bad driver. I have a 99 5spd and I run a 15.2 1/4 stock.

To answer the original question though...I agree with previous posts. If the mustang guy has a 5spd hes going to be running a high 15 (pending upon driver)...if hes an auto, he'll be running a mid to high 16.

So I guess it depends what u run...

You know it's gotta be depressing when you have to question whther your car can beat a 6 cylinder Camaro or Mustang  You should be able to beat them. If you don't, sell your car. J/K

my buddy drives a 93 maxima se auto, and he dust's v6 camaro & mustangs all the time, you should walk them easily

Depends on driver...I beat my seventh v6 mustang today and I drive a .... V6 mustang. Ive never lost to another v6 stang and im bone stock. In fact ive butchered them all, the reason being...99% of v6 mustang drivers dont race. So, if you happen to get one of them to, they CANT drive.

if you have one of the newer maximas i think you have a good chance of taking them

if i have my info correct

98 v6 stangs/camaro were running hi to mid 15s stock

and the newer maximas are running low 15s to hi 14s stock
