I have a 2001 Camry, and the check engine light went on. It came up the first time as miss fire. So, I gave it a tune up. The engine light came on again with P0106. I replace the map sensor. The replacement would not fit the old harness. So, it is just hanging there. I will order the new harness today for the map sensor. I un plugged the battery and the light went off. It came back on with P0172. What needs to be done now?

The fact that the MAP sensor did not fit tells me that it may not be recognized by the ECM.
If you left it hanging there there might be a hole in the air intake. That is why you may be getting P0172 code.
Before buying a new MAP sensor I would attempt to clean the old one.
YouTube is full with the videos on how to do it.
Try it first.
Good luck,
Sam
