I purchased my 2006 Impala in 2012 with less than 100000 miles on it...2nd hand.
After driving it about 20000 miles I had to to replace the transmission in it.
It ONLY lasted 11 months before having to have it replaced AGAIN.. And now not more than a year later on 10/18/2015 I am having to have this transmission replaced Again..Gm really should be held accountable for this problem with these specific makes...

I would question why this reoccurs, and what is failing, I would also question the skill level of who is doing the repairs, this not a common failure

what was wrong with the trans? did the same shop "replace" all 3 trans. I believe the 2006 has a TCM trans control module and uses a 4T65E trans. maybe its the module or a sensor like the MAF.

I have a 2007 Grand Prix GT with the supercharged V6. I have 180,000 miles on it and what appears to be the original transmission. I have owned the car since 123,000 miles.

Yes, the transmissions are known weak points in these cars, but the fact that you have 2 go out on you in that amount of time has more to do with either the way you drive or the quality of work being done on the transmission swaps.

Were the cooling lines(cooler) adequately flushed before installing the new trannies?

What was the failure of each tranny?

New, rebuilt, or used trannies used?
