Grand am uses to much gas

Hey all,
I`m having a problem with my Grand am"91" and how much gas it takes to go 10 miles.Its seems to run good..power seems to be ok and it starts a little hard at times and when I shut it down she takes a sec or so before she winds down.Its a 2.5 so if any of you car guys have any clue..thx for any help you can give..Stiggy

I am not familier with the gas milage specifics, however if it is bad, I'd start with a tune up with fuel filter and an oxygen sensor. I wish you luck.

You would have to plug a scanner into the car and see what the IAC counts, the long term fuel trim and the short term fuel trim are!

The engine should shut right off when you turn the key off if not thats a problem. A 2.5 Iron Duke was a bullet proof engine not too many problems with them.
