quick question hopefully......Is the oil light on a '92 Century, 3.3L a dummy light for low oil level or is it a light for low oil pressure?

If your car doesn't have an oil pressure gauge, that light is usually an oil pressure warning. However, it could also be warning you about the level, it's possible that it does both. I would suggest that you check the oil level. If it's low, add some and your problem is solved. If the level is ok, it may be an issue with your oil pump, which is something to have checked out professionally.

thanks, mike. the oil level is good. the light is flickering on and off at random times. I have a feeling that the sensor area may need a good cleaning and an inspection of the wire is in order. engine still sounds good, but better safe than sorry!

Check the pressure with a manual gage?
