Dead battery, no key

Hi guys, it looks like this forum doesn't get a lot of traffic anymore, but I have a problem getting into my truck... because of the nature of this problem, perhaps PM me with any suggestions...

The ignition switch was replaced in my 2001 Blazer before I bought it, so I have never owned a key for the doors... I have always relied on the remote key fob to unlock the doors. I, of course, forgot this, and have left it sitting so long that the battery has died. I need to find a way to either a) open the hood from the outside, or b) locate somewhere on the exterior of the truck with the hood closed that I could connect a battery charger... even a trickle charge would eventually do the trick.

Thanks!

First thing that comes to mind is to go from underneath; connect the leads to the positive at the starter and negative to the chassis.

Thanks blazee, maybe I'll give that a shot. I had considered it, but thought there was probably a relay between the starter and battery that would prevent the charge from getting to the battery... I also didn't want to risk starting the truck by accident and still not being able to open the doors!

The relay (called a solenoid in this case) is on the starter. Just make sure that you connect to the side going to the battery. Connecting to the wrong side may engage the starter and turn the engine, but it won't fire up without ignition, fuel pump, fuel injection power.

She's charging away! I was able to confirm with a voltmeter that the large terminal closest to the wheel well was a direct battery line... it read a whopping 2 Volts :S Hardest part was getting a rust-free ground connection lol
