Might not be a very new product, but it work pretty well. It is a lacquer gloss paint.
Modelers around Japan and China use this a lot, since it is just less than 2 per bottle in China which covers at least 2 1/24 cars. However, it does need thinner for spray.
It is NOT pre- thinned paint like zero paints. Best thinner for it is the Gunze Mr. Color LEVELING Thinner which has yellow lable on the bottle, it works better than Mr. Color Thinner which has blue lable.
By using thinners some tricks could be played: first apply two layer of 1:2 thinned gloss to seal the decal and the base color paint, then several 1:3 to create thickness, then 2 layers 1:4 to get a smooth, glossy finish. That's the way modelers in China always do. You won't need much effort for polishing cause after applying gloss, the finish should be very smooth.
Personally i would stick to it because it is cheap, easy to opperate and easy to polish. It has the shiny mirror finish just like 2-part-Polyurethane varnish.
Hope it helps
