Threadlocker RED on 2008 Yukon XL caliper bracket mounting bolts

I'm replacing the front rotors on the 2008 Yukon XL (58,000 miles) because my deaf ears never heard the squeeler and now the inside surface is all gouged up. Before reinstalling the caliper bracket mounting bolts, the procedure says to "Apply threadlocker GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to the threads of the bolts." This part number translates to Permatex High Temperature Threadlocker RED (for example, Permatex part number 24026). The bolts are torqued to 148 ft-lbs. Is threadlocker RED commonly required for caliper bracket mounting bolts? It seems a little extreme to apply a threadlocker that's not meant to be removed (red) on these bolts. The caliper mounting bolts on my 99 Suburban don't require any threadlocker, and they only get torqued to 38 ft-lbs.

Red threadlocker, and 148ft/lbs?! That's absolutely nuts!

Use blue thread locker. I suggest blue Loctite, but I do work for Henkel.
Red is for installing studs, stuff not expected to ever have to be removed.
